A couple of fanvids

And when I'm at it I will bring you a couple of new favourites among fanvids. It is a lot of John Paul nowdays, and rightly, because both John Paul McQueen and James Sutton are adorable and excellent! A couple of days before Christmas I found  great fanvid of McDean, John Paul McQueen and Craig Dean (Guy Burnet) that is. Here's their love story accompanied by Jeff Buckleys wonderful version of Leonard Cohens Halleluja.

When you watch this fanvid it might look like their lovestory didn't end well. But we all know that Craig came back one year later and he and John Paul got their sunset ending and went to Dublin together. We didn't see that in this fanvideo. But. There is a but. We also all know that Craig left John Paul four years later and John Paul had to go back to Hollyoaks alone and bring ut their son Matthew alone. But let's not be bitter over that. Back in Hollyoaks he met Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson)! And what a lovestory that is!

I found this fanvid yesterday and absolutely loved it! Lovely footage, great music, just enough talking and very well cut together. The only thing to complain about with this fanvid is that it was made before the wedding, so there isn't any wedding footage in it. But I love it anyway! And I love Hollyoaks. Is that obvious or...?

Some New Years specials

There have been som nice New Years episodes through the years. Not all soaps are on a break over Christmas, New Years and summer, thank gods. Here are some of my favourites.

Syed, Amira and Christian.

First of all we have the New Years kiss between Christian and Syed (Eastenders) from 2009. There are just rubbish pictures (even my own screenshots) so you'll have to settle with one of Syed kissing Amira instead, while Christian is watching. Awful. But the Chryed kiss was great! Just before the Masood wedding Christian (John Partridge) leaves Walford because of a broken heart, but comes home just for the midnight to give Syed (Marc Elliott) a kiss. It is so romantic, and there is so much pain. I love it!

Tom & Ulli.

Another favourite is actually from the millennium when Tom and Ulli (Verbotene Liebe) got together. And yet another rubbish picture. Tom (Kay Böger) and Ulli (Andreas Stenschke) had been tangled here and there for a while (well, Ulli had a girlfriend, of course) but in New Years eve Ulli finally had the guts to tell Tom his true feelings and from there there was no turning back. The coupled shared a cozy moment in front of the fireplace, and it is a classical scene indeed. To watch it follow the link.

Deniz and Roman on New Years eve.
The Germans know how to do it. Another cute New Years kiss is actually one of DeRo's (Alles Was Zählt) cutest. And yay, a great picture! Well, all of their kisses were cute. But this was special. It was playful and happy, which was not the case of their relationship at this time. Roman (Dennis Grabosch) was unemployed and Deniz (Igor Dolgatschew) was a model. But it was a happy time if you compare to what was to come... And there was also another New Years eve when Deniz dpent it with Vanessa instead of Roman but let's not talk about that!

Those were my favourites. And they were only three! So here is a bonus. Will and Sonny (Days of our lives) from last New Years eve.

Will (Chandler Massey) and Sonny (Freddie Smith).
I need to collect some more favourites I think... Any suggestions?

The McHay wedding

Kieron Richardson as Steven Hay and James Sutton as John Paul McQueen.

There was a Hollyoaks wedding on Christmas day, and it was awsome! The first proper same-sex wedding (Ste and Doug doesn't count because it was only a civil partnership) just a few days ago between Ste and John Paul.

John Paul and Ste with the hair back in the days.

Well, let's rewind a bit. I can tell you that John Paul and Ste couldn't stand eachother for several years. John Paul used to be together with Craig (and Spike and then Kieron), then had a one night with Brendan and then dated Doug and Danny before he ended up with Ste. Ste on the other hand messed around with Brendan for a while, were together with Noah, entered a civil partnership with Doug before he ended up with Brendan again who went to prison, made up with Doug who died before he ended up with John Paul. A bit incestuous, but oh so beautiful! Don't get me wrong, I am a Stendan shipper. But I am also a Stug and McDean shipper. I kind of also liked John Paul with the priest actually and I didn't mind him with Doug. But I am also a McHay shipper. It really is abeautiful love story, even though they had quite a bumpy ride (death, drugs, infidelity, you the usual soapy stuff). And there is more to come.

The first same sex church wedding i Hollyoaks history.

But, why is this wedding so awsome? Well, of course because of the cuteness in this couple. I love both John Paul and Ste, and James Sutton and Kieron Richardson has amazing chemistry, so it is a joy to watch. But the wedding is also very important for human rights. Actually, british same sex couples have just been allowed to get married since March this year. If you live in England and Wales that is. If you're scottish you had to wait until 16th og December this year. That is just two weeks ago. If you live in Northern Ireland you might never be able to marry the person you love if it is a person of the same sex as you. And that is awful. If you would like to see the McHay wedding and the priest being a little bit poltical, watch the video below. Long live love and McHay!

And also, this was kind of a dress rehersal for Kieron Richardson who will be getting married to his long term boyfriend Carl Hyland this spring. Yay!

Awkward kissing

Stephen Billington and James Sutton

I've started watching Hollyoaks again. I've just seen the end of John Paul and Danny. John Paul has just discovered that Danny is married. Poor John Paul. He has not always good luck with guys. I kind of like Danny though. He is a quite nice guy, even though he is a boring lover. But the kissing! So awkward! I mean Stephen Billington, you are a grown man with lots of actors experience! I just can not be that unpleasant! James Sutton on the other hand, as we know, is very good at kissing boys on screen. I don't think I've seen him in any awkward kiss. Except with Stephen Billinton...

Kalle

Pete Lattu as Kalle Laitela.

I've realized one thing. I've realized that Larias is quite boring. Especially Elias is boring. Lari is alright. Especially when he is with Kalle, because Kalle really is the most interesting, complex and loveable gay character in Salatut Elämät. MissFinlandia88 does a really great job uploading and translating the Larias scenes in Salatut Elämät, but it really is a bit boring nowdays. I loved the Larias story when I found it but now I enjoy the Kalle (and Lari) storyline so much more! There is an older storyline of Kalle from 1999-2002 which contains Kalle's first crush, coming out and a bit of Ismo homophobia. But back then, there was no youtube-days so to get the hands on that storyline means you have to rip it from a DVD, or maybe if you have an old VHS. Sinientomaatti has made some DVD-rips, but the storyline ends in the middle of the drama when the production company decided not to release more DVD's from these years. What a shame. Hopefully there will be re-decisions.

A slightly older Pete Lattu.

Ok, there is nothing wrong with the Larias storyline, but it is so 2013. 2014 (and hopefully 2015) it is Kalle and Lari that is the thing. Petteri Paavola and Ronny Roslöf does a really good job, but Peter Lattu is a really really good actor and he brings a whole new dimension to the series. I ship Kalle and Lari. But it is a shame that it is no good fandom pairing name for these guys. I mean Kari or Lalle doesn't really work... I have a great wish. I wish that someone starts translating and uploading the Kalle storyline as well on youtube, whatever happens to him and Lari. I think it is much more interesting than the Larias storyline. I would do it yself if a new any Finnish, but "ei saa peittää" and "moi mukulat" is not enough. But Kalle is my favourite character in Salatut Elämät, and he really deserves a lot more attention!

On a break

I am on a break. On a break from blogging because I am moving and my life and home is in a sort of chaos right now. So the blogging will be kind of breach for about another week. But I serve you a juicy picture of a juicy favourite couple.

Craig Dean (Guy Burnet & John Paul McQueen (James Sutton).

If you haven't seen the love story of John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) and Craig Dean (Guy Burnet), McDean that is, from Hollyoaks, do it! It's on youtube. You will not regret it!

Wedding bells for Finland

Petteri Paavola as Elias and Ronny Roslöf as Lari.

Last week the Finnish parliment approved same sex marriage. Finally! And yay for that! Finally it is free for Finnish same sex couples to get married. Finally we can have a Larias wedding.

Petteri Paavola as Elias and Juska Reiman as Miska.

Or maybe there will be a Miskias wedding. Elias is engaged to Miska after all. But I really don't understand what Elias is fuzzing around about. I mean, he is engaged to Miska, but he is grumpy and jealous as hell and hankering for Lari. Last week we even got some snogging. Feh! I really don't like what Elias has become and Miskias is boring and Larias is old news.

Pete Lattu as Kalle and Ronny Roslöf as Lari.

I ship Lari and Kalle! Kari or Lalle doesn't work so let's just call them Lari and Kalle! I think they are cute as hell and has potential. So I hope that Kalle will come home from India soon! I want Lari and Kalle to get married! And now they can.

Or Kalle and Elias...

Or Miska and Lari...

Or maybe Miska and Kalle! There are so many possibilities! Way to go Finland!

Javier & Javier

Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo.

I saw in some tumblr account a question about Javier Calvo (Fer in Física o Química). The question was if he and Javier Ambrossi (another actor) is dating. The answer was no, because Javier Calvo is not gay and that they are just friends and working together. Eh, they have bought a dog and are doing everything together so I believe they are... And also, I saw a clip where Javier Calvo called Javier Ambrossi amore so I really think they are. FYI.

A little bit more "retro": This Life

I have to be honest. Lately I haven't felt like watching much. I am watching the upcoming episodes of Degrassi, General Hospital and Larias, but I just don't feel like catching up with Verbotene Liebe, Hollyoaks, Eastenders and Days. And if I don't watch much, I don't have as much to blog about. But I can't neglect my readers so I will recommend yet another series, and that is one of my favourites: This Life.

The This Life cast.

This Life was aired 1996-1997 and was about five 20 something friends who shared living i London. In the beginning, all of them was working with law something. And it was great. A good plot and great actors. I mean, Jack Davenport and Andrew Lincoln. What's not to like?

Jason Hughes as Warren Jones.

And of course, there was a couple of gay characters. In series 1, Warren Jones was a regular. He was, if I can remember it right, a bit of a closetered gay guy. Warren was played by Jason Hughes, and yes, it is the same guy that is helping Inspector Barnaby sloving murders in Midsomer.

Ramon Tikaram as Ferdinand "Ferdy" Garcia.

At some point, Warren hooks up with Ferdinand "Ferdy" Garcia (Ramon Tikaram). Ferdy has a girlfriend but apparently likes boys as well. But it doesn't end well and Warren leaves the series and Ferdy moves in to the house and becomes a regular. And some fun facts: Ramon Tikaram who plays Ferdy is also the actor who plays Amira, Syeds wife, in Eastenders. he is a bad ass homophobe. But Ferdy on his hand, hooks up with Lenny, played by Tony Curran, who is one of my favourite actors (I have many) and that is always a pleasure to watch.

I really think you should see This Life, because it's a joy! I haven't found This Life somewhere online, but you can buy it on Play.com, Amazon and Ebay. It is well worth it!

A little bit of retro: Jack and Doug

The cast of Dawson's Creek.

When I was 15 years old Dawson's Creek happened. And it was amazing! I loved all the characters (especially Pacey) and all the actors and I recognized myself in all the characters problems and I guess I wanted to live in Capeside and hang out with the gang. My family though, they thought the dialogue was way to mature for 16 year olds. I didn't agree. Mostly of stubbornness. But I loved in anyway.

Andie and Jack McPhee.

In the second season Jack and Andie McPhee showed up. The most loveable characters, except for Pacey, in the series. I actually never liked Dawson and Joey. Jen was alright. But Andie was fun and Jack was gay. But we didn't know that back then, because he dated Joey. One relationship doomed to fail. But Jack and Joey was actually the first couple in the series to have sex if I don't remember it wrong. And actually, not everything was great with the series. The drama and shenanigans about sex was really not believable. I was a teenager back then and I remember it as you started dating, snogging and then yu got horny and had sex. No one never talked so much about having sex before having it! And in the later seasons I actually got bored. Especially when they move from Capeside and started university. So I stopped watching.

But later, my friend Karin told me about the last season. She told me, and now there's a spoiler alert, Jen dies, Joey and Pacey end up together (yay!) and also, Jack and Doug end up together! Double-yay!

Kerr Smith as Jack McPhee.

Ok, we have to rewind a bit. So, Jack McPhee is gay. After a fling with Joey, he comes out and he is dating some various guys through the seasons. Ethan, Tobey, Eric, David... I cannot remember a single one of them. But I do remember Doug!

Dylan Neal as Doug Witter.

Officer Doug Witter is the older brother of Pacey who is a bit of a bully. A homophobic bully. Pacey on his hand, thinks that Doug is gay and is giving him hell about that. Doug denies that, very furiously. But I always suspected that he was a very closeted gay guy. And I was right. And I always saw a spark and was hoping for Jack and Doug to get together.

Jack and Doug. At the beech. Finally!

So Karin told me that Jack and Doug ended up together. But this was in 2003. There was no Netflix or Pirate Bay in 2003 in my world at least, so I had to just live with the pleased knowledge that Jack and Doug ended up together. But later in the 00's Youtube happened and thank gods for that! Youtube made it possible me and averyone else who got tired of Dawson's Creek's splendidness to watch the very nice, but short, love storyline of Jack and Doug. And it was very cute. And it actually made me wanting to watch the entire Dawson's Creek again. Maybe it makes me feel young again. Or very old...

Degrassi

Eric Osborne as Miles Hollingsworth & Lyle Lettau as Tristan Milligan.

Since I'm in a period of wanting to watch new storylines I started another. I started watching the Tristan and Miles (Triles) storyline from the canadian series Degrassi, or Degrassi: the next generation as it was called up to the ninth season. The series is about the Degrassi Community school, so it is about young kids. I might not be the target group of that kind of series anymore, but if there is a gay couple you ca count me in. The Degrassi lovebirds are Tristan Milligan (Lyle Lettau) who is a very blond openly gay teenager who just started dating his friend Miles Hollingsworth (Eric Osborne) who is not openly gay. But they are open about their relationship so I guess Miles is a pansexual. I think it is very sympathetically with pansexuals. I really think we all are pansexuals when it comes to the crunch. And Miles and Tristan are sweet as cotton candy, so I really do recommend that storyline. I recommend all gay storylines actually. Even the boring and unhappy ones. We all do need a little bit of gay love in our lives.

Shorties

Lately I haven't been so keen on watching slow soap operas where it takes forever just to get to the first kiss, so I have been pausing Verbotene Liebe, Hollyoaks, Days of our lives and Eastenders. Instead of slow soap operas I felt like watching relatively short stories with an end, either because it's the end of a season or the end of the series. So this passed week I have completed two series.

Brent Antonello as Jude Kincade and Adam Senn as Zero.

In the second season of the VHI basketball drama Hit the floor there is one gay (Jude) and one bisexual (Zero) character. The characters Jude and Zero develops some kind of secret relationship in the seond half of seasn two, and we can guess that there will be further development in season 3, because there will be a season 3. But I can't really understand how Hit the floor can get a third season when In the Flesh still hasn't been renewed. Ok, there is a difference between BBC and VH1, but I am really glad that someone has cut the Zero and Jude parts out of the series because it seems really boring and crappy. I mean, basket ball. There is , according to me, nothing that is interesting enough to make a drama series about it. I know that One Tree Hill did it, but honestly, averything about the basketball was really boring. But I think that the gay storyline has potential.

Keller & Beecher.

After finishing Hit the floor I watched some fanvids from Sanne121993 on youtube and then I got reminded of Keller and Beecher from the old prison drama Oz. I never watched Oz when it was still aired, but both my bf of the time and my brother watched it so I had seen some parts with the couple. Ok, it is a prison drama, there is a lot of boy on boy action, along with a lot of violence, a lot of rapes and a lot of brutality, but this still is a very beautiful love story. I kind of fell in love with Keller and Beecher. And I realized that following one storyline of Oz was enough for me. If you love the series, you kind of love it feeling bit sick and having a lot of angst at the same time. But Chris Keller (Christopher Meloni) and Tobias Beecher (Lee Tergesen) are really cute in a brutal way and you can't really get enough of them. I don't want to spoil it for you, but I can say that it ends in a typical way for a gay storyline. But after watching Keller and Beecher from Oz I got some cravings for watching more with these actors. Maybe I should start with the episode of SVU with them both starring?

How to get away with murder

There is a new series started in September that is quite cool. It's called How to get away with murder and is about a group of law students in Philadelphia. Each episode contains a new trial case, but there is also an ongoing murder plot through the whole series. It is great fun, grat actors such as Matt McGorry (Orange is the new black), Alfie Enoch (Harry Potter) and Katie Findlay (The Killing, The Carrie Diaries) and also some gay sex.

Jack Falahee as Connor Walsh.

Connor Walsh (Jack Falahee) is one of the law students who has a lot of appetite for both life and sex. Whe have seen him hook up with a guy more than once. This character is hilarious, and I think it would be worth watching the series just because of Connor Walsh.

Jack Falahee as Connor Walsh and Conrad Ricamore as Oliver.

Even though it seems like Connor is quite confortable with casual sex, and lots of it, it also seems like he found a guy he really likes in the computer hacker Oliver. But right now he screwed it up and it's unclear if he will get a second chance. But I am intrigued to see how the character of Connor Walsh will develop!

G&T webserie

I found something new. And something very addictive. I was a bit in the blues after watching to great lovestories end in disaster, that is Stendan (jail for life) and DeRo (death by brain tumour) and didn't really feel like watching any of stories that I have to catch up in (McCarter, Olli or Johnny) so I wanted something new. Something without several hundreds of episodes. I knew that I had seen something about a webseries and surfed in to the G&T-channel. I ploughed through it in a flash and fell absolutely in love!

Matteo Rocchi and Francesco D'Alessio.

G&T webserie is an Italian series produced for the web that has two seasons today. Ok, my Italian is non-existent, and about there is to read about the series is in Italian and google translate cannot always do the job, but to me it seems like the guys who plays the main charaters, Francesco D'Alessio and Matteo Rocchi, does about it all. They both starr in it, writes the screenplay, directs it and about all the crew including the cast are holding cameras, screens, lighting, you name it! I love it!

Matteo Rocchi as Tommaso & Francesco D'Alessia as Giulio.

Ok, the series is about Tommaso (Matteo Rocchi) and Giulio (Francesco D'Alessia), two best friends who once shared a passionate snog in the bathroom of a student club. After that they didn't see each other for five years because of some closety issues from Tommaso. We get in to the action when their roads crosses again and there are sparks! I don't wanna spoil it for you because I really recommend that you watch it! Or I might even demand you to watch it because it is absolutely amazing! This kind of project with a small budget where everyones involved really is involved, you just have to support! The actors are great, the footage is very beautiful, the plot is very good, the props and costumes are very suitable, the dialogue, script, everything, breathes love! Please tune in to G&T webserie on youtube and let me know what you think! A little warning though, the english subtitles in season 1 is quite poor, but you will get the main contents. It is very well worth watching!

A little bit of age difference

Well, if you have read my blog I guess it doesn't come as a surprise that I am a huge Lari and Kalle shipper right now! I think they are perfect for each other. But there are some people that doesn't agree, both in the series and in real life. The biggest objection about a relationship between the two are the age difference. But I don't really get what all the fuzz is about.

Pete Lattu as Kalle and Ronny Roslöf as Lari.

Ok, there are 16 years between them, but that's nothing! Been there, done that. Lari is of age, and Kalle is both warm and kind. Lari has been through so much that he really needs a mature boyfriend, and that is not Elias right now. Just go for it!

Dennis Grabosch as Roman and Igor Dolgatschew as Deniz.

There has been some couples with a bit of age difference before. One of the clearest examples are Deniz and Roman, DeRo. Ok, Deniz Öztürk was 17 when he joined the series in 2007, which makes him born 1990, that's 7 years younger than the actor. Anyway, Roman turned 30 in 2009 or 2010 or something, if I haven't gotten it completely wrong, which makes him about 10 years older than Deniz. And that is nothing! Nothing to worry about there. Maybe when he was under age, but that's niceties. The biggest issue with these two was that they persistated on breaking up all the time!

Carlo Degen as Joscha and Alexander Gier as Kai.

Well, I guess the writers of Alles was zählt like a bit of age difference in their gay storylines. Joscha and Kai, that we had the pleasure of following last year until May this year had a little bit of age difference to I guess. If I understood it right Joscha was about 20-22. Well Kai was a doctor, who had been working for a while, so he have to had been in his thirties. I guess there was about 10 years between those cuties to. And we have already noted that 10 years are nothing! Even 16 years are nothing!

James Sutton as John Paul and Stephen Billinton as Danny.

And then there's John Paul MacQueen and Danny Lomax who had a fling last year. Danny and John Paul worked together and also started sleeping together. Ok, John Paul actually was 17 in 2006. That makes him 25 now. He looks older. That might be because James Sutton is 31. But anyways, Danny Lomax has grown up children so he would be at least 40. I would guess about 45. That means about 20 years of age difference! That is quite a lot, but if everyone is happy it is not a problem. And really, that is just fur years older than 16 years, and as stated before, that is nothing. The problem here was that Danny was married. And, just as an anecdote, he is also Ste's biological dad. Ste and John Paul is dating right know. And Danny also died in a car crash.

Ferry Doedens and Dave Mantel.

There is also suppose to be an age difference between Lucas and Menno from Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden, but I haven't seen that storyline yet and they also broke up so I don't really have much to say about them. But I will see it, of course. Anyone who know how much of age difference there was?

So, my point is that age difference is a phenomenon from real life that we also see in soap operas, and not just with yung girls and rich older men. There is nothing shocking with a little bit of age difference so stop nagging about it and let Lari and Kalle snog in peace. Amen.

General Hospital

In the 90's, there was a fenomenal called "eftermiddagsserier på TV4". That means series in channel 4 in the afternoon. It was a special feeling coming home from school, putting on the TV to watch whatever TV¤ was showing then. TV4 both gave me Dynasty, Dallas, Road to Avonlea, 90210, Little house on the prairies and lots lots more. And General Hospital. Even though I think General Hospital was more around lunch time, so maybe it was more a series to watch when you were home sick.

I haven't seen General Hospital since then, and to be honest, I didn't even know it still existed. But anyways, a couple of days ago, I got the tip from another swedish "faghag" on instagram that there were gays in General Hospital, and that it's on youtube, I just had to check it out.

Felix DuBois portraited by Marc Anthony Samuel.

There are three gay characters in General Hospital at the moment. Felix DuBois, who is played by Marc Anthony Samuel, has been in the show since late 2012. Felix is a nurse who seems to have been the love interest of Brad Cooper for about a year before they eventually go out on a date. A quite boring character actually, if you ask me.

Brad Cooper portraited by Parry Shen.

Brad Cooper, played by Parry Shen, is the lab technician at the hospital who was craving for Felix for about a year before he med Lucas Jones. He is also the biological son of a mobster, and he also helped his best friend Brit Westbourne to steal an embryo to impregnate herself, just to get himself a promotion. He is a quite fun character actually. He has been in the show since February 2013.

Lucas Jones portraited by Ryan Carnes.

Lucas Jones was introduced in the show in 1989, and is one of those characters who has aged rapidly, and has been played by no less than ten different actors. Ryan Carnes, who plays Lucas Jones right now is both the ninth and the eleventh Lucas Jones. Lucas Jones is also the biological son of a mobster, and came out in 2005, before he left for Seattle in 2006. In 2014 Lucas was back in Port Charles (where the series takes place) and immediately met Brad Cooper who he fell for. Brad on his hand got asked out on a date by Felix who he had been craving for for about a year the day after he had spent the night with Lucas. Bad timing. A love triangle between Lucas, Brad and Felix started where Brad was dumped both by Felix and Lucas (partly because of the embryo-stealing) which went on until there almost was a threesome (a gay threesome in an american soap opera, blimey!) and Brad and Lucas ended off together, at last. And there we are now.

Lucas and Brad at last.

I really adore the character of Lucas Jones, he is hilarious, and Brad is not that bad either. Felix is boring. But this seems promising. I really hope for some more humour and steamy scenes with the two. But General Hospital. What a ridiculous series it is! Oh my god, what was that nurses ball thing? Strained dialogue, silly stage performances, strip tease with Lucas and Felix AND improvised singing by Brad where the background singers knew all the words? Ridiculous! Really! But at least, it is not such a slow and boring soap as Days of our lives. But it is quite funny, while watching General Hospital on youtube I realized a recognized more than one actor and then I realized it was actually from General Hospital! There are still some characters left since the mid 90's! And I also realized that it is the same actors in all the american soaps. In General Hospital you can both see the detective from One life to live and Sonnys father from Days, for example.

And if you think you recognize Ryan Carnes who plays ucas Jones, you might do. It is the same Ryan Carnes that played the boyfriend Justin of Andrew van de Kamp in Desperate Housewives, and he was also in the first Eating Out movie. And I have to say, he is quite nice looking at.

Violence in our minds

Ok, there is something with soap operas, violence and gay relationships. Straight relationships to I guess, but there is a significance in gay once, I think. The classical scenario is that a gay character is so deep into the closet that he can't handle the fact that he is attracted to another man that he uses violence to suppress both his and the other gay characters feelings. There are lots of examples of that.

Amy interrupts a tense moment between Brendan and Ste.

The most obvious example of this is the relationship/non-relationship between Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) and Brendan Brady (Emmett J. Scanlan). This seems to be the first example of domestic violence in a gay relationship in a british soap opera. The actors stated that they were very proud of the storyline, and I do think that it is avery important matter to portrait. In the beginning of the Stendan journey, Brendan handled it by smacking Ste up about every second time they got together. Ste tried to stop loving Brendan and borke it off with him several times, but always ended up in Brendans arms in the end. In time, Brendan did start to handle his aggression and dealt with it and stopped smacking Ste up, and they started an sort of equal relationship, but even then he smacked Ste when he was haunted and pressured, a couple of times. Ste of course forgave him. Again and again. And Stendan is a very very popular couple. Even though their relationship was dashed by a little violence.

Ringo beating Yannick almost to death,

Another homophobic character very deep down into the closet is Ringo Beckmann  (Timothy Boldt) from Unter Uns. His self-disgust knew no bounds when he almost hit his fling Yannick Benhöfer (Eric Stehfest) almost to death, just because he wanted to have a proper relationship with him. Ringo on the other hand, repented of course, and tried to get Yannick back. But thankfully, Yannick never forgave him andleft the series just some episodes after the abuse. It would have been to unreal if he would have forgiven him, I think.

Lenny and Carsten beating eachother up before some snogging.

Well, another storyline with a lining of violence is the Cenny one. Carsten Reimann (Felix Isenbügel) and Lenny Cöster (Alexander Becht) liked beating both eachother and others up. When they were not fighting with other gangs, they were trying to resist eachother and did that with som beatings. In the end, Lenny even participated in an assault of Carsten, where they actually both were so damaged they ended up in hospital. Lenny, of course, changed his mind in the last moment and tried to stop the gang from beating Carsten up. Carsten had a hard time forgiving Lenny, but because he loved him so much, he finally did. And they live happily ever after.

Deniz and Roman forgot it all.

There are some similarities between the Cenny and the DeRo storylines. Just as Lenny knew that the gang was going to beat up Carsten, Deniz Öztürk (Igor Dolgatschev) knew that his hockey team mates was going to beat up Roman Wild (Dennis Grabosch). The homophobic hockeyplayers told Deniz about their plans, and even wanted Deniz to participate in them, and Deniz never really tried to stop them. He was a coward. He was running after them, but then he chickened out and ran away. The homphobes broke Romans knee and almost ruined his figure skating career. At first Roman knew nothing about Deniz's part in the assault, but when he knew, he never really had a hard time forgiving him. But, I read in an article that the actor, Dennis Grabosch, said that he never would have forgiven such a thing. But, I have to say, thank you writers for Roman forgiving Deniz, otherwise, we would have missed out on one of the most beautiful love storys of this century.

Joscha is not happy with Kai.

Alles was Zählt have given us another great love story where there was a bit of violence. Joscha Degen (Carlo Degen) was closetered football player that even got married to a woman to hide his homosexuality. But when he met the hot doctor Kai Seebach (Alexander Gier) on his wedding night, there was no turning back. But when they shared a cozy moment in the bushes, and Joschas team mates showed up, he reacted irrationally and pushed Kai into the bushes. Thank gods that Deniz showed up and talked some sence to Roman by telling him not to be such a pusch over and not letting others pay for his assholeness, and Joscha apologized to Kai. Kai in his hand, ended the thing between them, because of how Joscha treated him. A perfectly logical reaction. But of course, he couldn't resist Joscha and eventually gave in. And they lives happily ever after.

Larias. Not always friends.
Craig and John Paul.

There have also been some smacking and pushing between Larias and McDean. That is Lari Väänänän (Ronny Roslöf) and Elias Vikstedt (Petteri Paavola) and John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) and Craig Dean (Guy Burnet). In both cases passion won against anger and the couples were united. And this made me start thinking. I am not saying that these kind of stereotypichal scenarios are just in gay relationships. I am fully aware of that abuse are present in straight relationships in soaps to, even though I think it is more common that there is more common with a little bit of violence in the beginning af relationships between men, in the denial state. Maybe it's about testosteone and male stereotypes. Violence is present in both same sex and straight relationships in both soaps and real life, and people stay with their partners after abuse in real life to. And it is important to show this in soap operas to bring awareness of violence and help people deal with it, and maybe even seek help. Hollyoaks is actually very good at directing to help lines when showing these storylines. But, because of the ordinariness of at least a little bit of violence in gay relationships in soap operas there is some kind of message that it's ok with a little bit of violence. Expect a little bit of abuse, but after that everything is fine. But I get that it has to some drama to the storylines, and even I have confessed that a lot of my favourite storylines actually have som violence in them (see above), but it really would be nice to see a nice helathy gay relationship with no violence, no infidelity and no fucking brain tumour, or shooting maniac, or a collapsing building, or strange deadly virus, just happiness, love and lots of snogging. Would that be too uninteresting to watch?

Again...

Carsten Reimann and Lenny Cöster.

I have to confess. I am watching Cenny again. Lenny and Carsten that is. It all happened because I was scrolling down my blog post because I was searching for something and happened to scroll past the special post about the pair I made in april, because I was already rewatching the storyline three months after descovering it. And now I am hooked again. There is just something very addictive with the love story of Lenny Cöster and Carsten Reimann. Though I discovered that one of my sources of the storyline was removed and annoyed. But then I found another one, a source that contained an episode previously missing, that I really really wanted to see! But I won't tell you my sources in case of RTL spying on me. If you want to know my sources, if you are curious on any storyline, please send me an e-mail. I am gladly part of the contribution av these storylines, to as many people as possible!

Alexander Becht and Felix Isenbügel.

The actors Alexander Becht and Felix Isenbügel both left the series Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten in 2010. They have done a bit of everything since then and as I have told you before, Felix Isenbügel who plays Carsten, has told RTL that he could imagine returning to GZSZ, but there are no such hints from Alexander Becht. There is an interview with him on youtube that I barely understand a word from (Germans and their fast-talking) but I read that he said that he didn't like the part of of Lenny, he was sick about the storylines and that he was tired of the 16 hours working days. I do understand. I guess it is really hectic being a soap actor, and I do even understand he didn't like the character of Lenny. Lenny was quite blank character hos solved everything with a little bt of violence. But I think he became a really nice and interesting character when he came out and started dating Carsten, who actually also used to be quite blank character. The two characters supplemented eachother. I do follow both Alexander Becht and Felix Isenbügel on facebook, and at least Felix seem to be an active actor, mostly on stage.

Carsten, the long-haired Lenny and the kiss.

Well, I don't know, maybe Alexander Becht has a lot on, but if he doesn't why not coming back to GZSZ for a bit? I really think the series needs a new gay storyline, even though there is an ongoing female one, but the more the merrier. And I for one would really like to see what Lenny and Carsten does today! What happened to Lennys art studying? How did he adapt to a new life outside prison? Did they go to Barcelona or Australia? Does Carsten still have such a sleasy taste in clothes (tight jeans and a tucked in shirt is never good)? I mean, there are endless questions and we doesn't get any answers. You really got a responsibility here! That is the backside of giving us a gay storyline with a happy ending. We are never really satisfied. And with "we", I mean me.
