Looking: the movie

Jonathan Groff in Looking: the movie.

I saw it yesterday. And... No. No no no. Well, let's take it from the beginning.

Jonathan Groff, Murray Bartlett & Frankie J. Alvarez.

Don't get me wrong, it was very well-made, it was fun and cosy to watch and the Looking-spirit was definitely there. I loved that! Defiitely. I've missed those guys. Especially Jonathan Groff. Patrick is so my favourite!

Jonathan Groff & Russel Tovey.

Of course, the scene with Patrick and Kevin was the best! Russel Tovey is just such a good actor! And not just because he's Britsh, just because he's fabulous! But, I did not approve of the ending. I don't want to spoil it all for you but...

Jonathan Groff & Raúl Castillo.

Must sayin'. Boring Richie... But at least there was a wedding. I'm going to b´miss Looking. And Jonathan Groff. A lot.

Stop cancelling my favourite series!

Really HBO? Are you really going to cancel the best thing you've done since Sex and the city? That is so not cool! The end was awful, lets agree about that. But I read that there will be a single special episode just to wrap it up. And according to Russel Tovey it is going to be a whole movie! Well, I have to trust you on that then. But I am still not happy! I want a whole season. And if the movie ends with Patrick getting back together with Richie I will be seriously affended as a Kevrick shipper! Just sayin.

Third season now!

Richie and Patrick.

I did not like the season final of Looking! Ok, even though I do not like Richie, I really liked the last scene between him and Patrick. It was nice. I really thought there would be some snogging between Patrick and Richie when Kevin and Patrick might have broken up. I really don't think the things that Kevin said was that bad, and even though Patrick is a drama queen I understand him. But why oh why did they give us a wonderful season with fucking against a tree, lots of snogging and cuteness, I love you's and a moving in together just to end it like that? That is really not fair to us hardcore Patrick and Kevin shippers! We do need a third season! We demand it actually!

And speaking of third seasons, we also still need a third season of In the Flesh! I won't take no for an answer! And we do need a third season of G&T, the Italian web series. Both those series ended with real cliffhangers. And I hate cliffhangers.

The hands of Jude and Connor in The Fosters.

And yesterday also this happened. Jude and Connor, aka Jonnor, in The Fosters are just so adorable! Now it seems that they are official. It was also season finale for the Fosters, but there will be a third season. Thank gods for that! Cuteness overload!

Kevin vs Richie

Ok, three reasons why I ship Patrick with Kevin and not with Richie:

Russel Tovey.

1. Russell Toveys ears.
I prefer Russell Toveys ears to Raúl Castillo's every day of the week. Who wouldn't?!

Jonathan Groff and Russel Tovey.

2. It is so obvious that Patrick and Kevin are in love.
I mean, the cuddling, the sex, do I need to say more?! Kevin just has to dump his boyfriend.

Raúl Castillo as Richie.

3. Richie is just soooo boring!
I mean really, really boring! He is even more boring than Miska in Salatut Elämät! And Felix in General Hospital! And that is reaaallly boring!

Patrick and Kevin ftw!

Looking season 2

The Looking cast.

So, yesterday season two of Looking started. Yay! And the start of the season has not made me dissapointed! This season will be two episodes longer than the last season and Russel Tovey and Raúl Castillo has joined Jonathan Groff, Frankie J. Alvarez and Murray Bartlett as regulars. For me, Patrick's storyline (Jonathan Groff) is the most interesting. I can't wait to see what happens between him and Kevin! Russel Tovey is just so brilliant and british! I think that he and Jonathan Groff has amazing chemistry. I do not care for Richie. Just sayin'. Dom's and Agustín's storylines are not that interesting. At least, they were a bit boring in season 1. But I love the series and I can't wait to see how it develops for all the characters. I put my faith in HBO right now.

Looking

The last episode has been aired and it didn't leave me dissatisfied. And it will be a second season! Thank you HBO! There is lot's and lot's to like about the show. It is not censored like gay love often is on TV. This show is in fact about three gay men, so it would be a scandal if it was censored... But Looking feels really realistic without sugary cuteness and dramaqueers. It's quite ordinary but very sexy.

Murray Bartlett, Jonathan Groff and Frankie J. Alvarez.

Looking is about the three friends Dom Basaluzzo (Murray Bartlett), Patrick Murray(Jonathan Groff) and Agustín Lanuez (Frankie J. Alvarez) who are more or less unsuccessful in love and work. Sometimes they get laid, and sometimes not. I'm sure they have slept together in lost times as well. They are quite ordinary and it's refreshing to see some gay characters who are adults.

Patrick and Kevin.

For me the character of Patrick is the most interesting and the others works as supporting rolls in his storyline in a way. I hope that the second season will let us get to know Dom and Augustin better. Eight episodes are really not that much. I especially like the interaction between Patrick and his boss Kevin played bu Russell Tovey. Richie (Patricks boyfriend) is a nice guy, but Kevin is the shit! He is handsome, British and has big ears, what's not to like? For me he is the obvious choice för Patrick. I really need to see Glee now... To bad it's a whole year until the next season... We need more gays on TV and we need lots of Looking!
