Death - again.

It's been a lot about Robron lately. I have to say that they are my no.1 ship right now, even if I really do enjoy Tilly, Dominac and McNight as well! But Robron is cutest right now. I think it's because they have been around the longest. But even so, it's hard to compare to Lalle, Chrolli, DeRo, Cenny and all the other old ships. I am just finding it hard to bond as much as I did before. But I still love all the ships today! And as I said, Robron is no.1 for me right now. And that's why I just can't stand if aaron dies! I don't believe he will, but still, I can't breathe properly before I know that he will survive. And speaking of death - I just hate it! I just can't understand why they have to kill off all the gays. My first post was about that subject and I keep coming back to it! I just don't understand why! There are so many great characters we will never see again. Ok, there's always Bobby Ewing, but that just doesn't work!

James Fletcher as Dylan Jenkins.

Like Dylan for example. Dylan Jenkins, the wonderful and beautiful creature will never come back! And that's Lindsey's fault! It's really a shame that his character never deleoped as he deserved. And to be honest, we need more transvestites in soap operas!

Jonny Labey as Paul Coker.

And Paul Coker! What did Eastenders think when they killed him off?! Haven't Ben Mitchell suffered enough? At least he's out now. But to bring such a lovely character to the show and then kill him just a year later... It's criminal! I just can't see Ben with anyone else right now!

PJ Brennan as Doug Carter.

I really miss Doug in Hollyoaks. Doug Carter was the third best thing that ever happened to Ste! Or if he comes in second together with John Paul maybe... Because first comes Brendan! Always Brendan. But Doug was awesome! And he was really good for Ste. Such a shame he had to die! He could really do a Bobby Ewing!

Dennis Grabosch as Roman Wild.

And there's of course my favourite Roman Wild. I just can't talk about that. Let's just say that me and Alles Was Zählt has a bone to pick about Deniz storylines and relationships after that Roman died. Just awful.

Chandler Massey as Will Horton.

And I have to mention Will Horton as well. Regardless if Chandler Massey or Guy Wilson plays him he didn't have to die! Days of our lives are good at bringing people back from the dead but they have stated that there will be no more of that. So Will can never come back. I know that there are a lot of PaulSon shippers out there but I still want Will back!

So, here's for all you soap opera writers: don't kill them off, just let them move away or get kidnapped or something! In that way they can come back, with a new actor if that's what's needed. It feels like they always regret it otherwise. That's why we have Bobby Ewings and Nicolas Barrels and others. If they would have killed off Johnny Carter for example, Ted Reill would never have been. So thank you for that Eastenders! But I still can't forgive you for Paul.

HTGAWM and Coliver

Conrad Ricamora & Jack Falahee.

Have I missed something or have How To Get Away With Murder become a soap during the break or what? Because that how it seemed in the season premiere last week. Yes, Connor and Oliver broke up for whatever reason. I didn't really get why. They love eachother but they broke up anyway, just because Oliver lied and Connor forgave him? Madness. But I know how it goes. They just broke up to create some drama so that they can get together in the end of this season again, after some drunk snogging a couple of times and maybe even some sex. They borrowed this concept from Hollyoaks. And Alles Was Zählt. And Days of our lives and every other soap opera in history! But thinking about it, I wonder why they're together anyway. They are dead cute and all but Oliver is just a tiny bit boring, even though he's cute, and if Connor found another guy to be cute with I would be allright. But let's not hope we'll get there!

Deniz + Jenny

Kaja Schmidt-Tychsen & Igor Dolgatschew.

I haven't been watching Alles Was Zählt forever. Not since Joscha and Kai left the show actually. But from what I have seen it really seems like Deniz has only dated really wavy girls. Like Mel. Hated her. And even before Roman he dated wavy girls. Like Nina. I really think he has kind of crappy taste in women. But now it seems like he has something going on with Jenny Steinkamp! The older sister of ex-girlfriend Vanessa that is! And I have to say, I don't totally hate it! I still have hopes for Deniz to fall in love a man again, but if they are persistant of Deniz only dating women, I actually think Jenny is quite all right. Ok, she is a total bitch but I kind of like that total bitch! At least she is a strong and interesting character. I don't hate it. I don't love it, but I donät hate it.

DeRo again

Dennis Grabosch & Igor Dolgatschew.

Do yu know what? I got my bf to watch Deniz & Roman with me! How did I do that? I got the idea from my faghag friend to bargain with him. He gets to watch of my storylines and I have to watch one of his series. I choose DeRo because it's been a while since I saw it, it's quite long and I have really been craving it for a while now. I get to see Star Trek Deep Space Nine. I'm ok with that. I like Star Trek (especially The Next Generation) even though I kind of never watch it, and he threatened to choose Dexter at first but I protested against that and said veto. I wouldn't have liked that. He sounds like he needs taking a shit all the time and he kind of hiss all the time. The parts I've seen I haven't liked. And I actually do think that he doesn't hate it. He laughs some times and he doesn't complain that much. And Alles Was Zählt is a very humourable series with a lots of lovingable characters. But it's really slow! He doesn't like it that much. He always sighs a lot when I sugest watching it. But hey, you can't have everything!

Ingo bist schwul?

André Dietz aka Ingo Zadek.

Oh how would I have liked that! I so would like if Ingo was gy! Or at least bisexual. I never really liked Ingo with Bea. I liked Bea with Ben and I liked Ingo with Annette. But Annette died so... BUT, if Ingo turned out to swing that way, it would be a perfect opportunity for Deniz (Igor Dolgatschew) to come out of the closet again! After Roman (Dennis Grabosch) died Deniz have been straight, straight and straight and his girlfriends have been really boring! But I can actually see Denis and Ingo together! I would rather see Ingo with Roman but he died so that is not an option. So, if you won't give Deniz to Ingo, please give him another man! I think we do need some boy-on-boy action again in Allez Was Zählt!

Alles was kommt

Jo Weil.

Well, that's what the previews called in Alles Was Zählt. You can see the latest here. Jo Weil was the host and if you don't know any German he says that it's twelve days until his character Nick Danne makes his entrance. I am quite pepp! But, I have to say, it is quite bizarre to see Jo Weil in Alles Was Zählt! He is supposed to be in Verbotene Liebe, snogging Christian (not Dr. Jo Helmke).

Nothing going on

The Germans have really made the most memorable gay characters in their soaps. I mean, who doesn't love Chrolli, Joscka, DeRo och Cenny? But what are they doing right now? I really don't understand. In the years 2007-2010-ish, there were six regular gay(ish) characters in German soaps. There were Olli and Christian in Verbotene Liebe, Lenny and Carsten in Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten and there were Roman and Deniz in Alles Was Zählt. How many are there now? None!

Igor Dolgatschew as Deniz Öztürk.

Ok, that was kind of a lie. There har three bisexual characters. Deniz is still a part of Alles Was Zählt, but since Roman died he has just dated women. And not very nice women either. Please Deniz, step back outside of the wardrobe! Or at least have some juicy dreams about Roman!

Mickey Hardt as Dr. Jo Helmke.

And when Verbotene Liebe stopped being an every day soap (or at least an every second day soap) and became a once a week soap, Oliver Sabel left the series as well. I don't know if he did it by free choice or if the writers wanted something else of the show, but I do know that Olli was a very very popular character so they shouldn't have wanted for him to go. But Olli was never really interesting enough without Christian... But, he had a fling with Dr. Jo Helmke, and Jo is still a regular on the show But I haven't really watched the show since Christian left and Dr. Jo Helmke is not a favourite character in any way. I don't even think it's possible to follow his storyline on youtube. And that says enough!

Timothy Boldt who plays Ringo Beckmann.

And of course, there's Ringo Beckmann in Unter Uns. I do love Ringo, and Timothy Boldt hos plays him in the show Unter Uns, but it seems like the character is just part of really boring storylines. Storylines with no male love interests, that is. He dated Yannick and then he wanted to date Aaron (even though I guess he never admitted that to himself) and then there has just been girls. So I don love Ringo but I don't love Unter Uns. I think it's a boring series. It's a shame, because it could have been really interesting with Ringo being a villain and all. But Hollyoaks are good at that. Maybe they could borrow him?

Some sports

Speaking of Manuel and Lalo and their football (soccer) careers! It's not the first time sports has a major part in a gay storyline. And it's not the first time football is of major interest.

Kai Seebach and Joscha Degen in Alles Was Zählt.

First of all, lets remember Joschka for a while... I really loved Joscha and Kai. I think it's a shame the storyline ended so early! Joscha Degen (Carlo Degen) was a depp closetered football player in Alles Was Zählt, who dated a couple of girls, and even married one, before he met the doctor Kai Seebach (Alexander Gier) and there were lot's of sparks! He was so deep down in the closet just because of his football career, and he had to suffer both gay-bashing and oral abuse after he came out with a bang when the team won some kind of cup. But he got his pro contract han he and Kai left Essen together. A sunset ending.

Christian and Oliver in Verbotene Liebe.

Football is a sport for real men if you ask a lot of people. So is boxing. I for one think all sports are for all people, if they like it. And Christian Mann (Thore Schölermann) met a lot of homophobia both before and after he came out in his shooting boxing career. Fortunately he had Oliver (Jo Weil) to pick him up when everything went wrong. He also got gay bashed. I do not know of any out gay boxers in real life. I guess itäs because of the same reason as Christian had such a hard time coming out... But there has been some boxing guys who didn't suffer homophobic behaviour. Both Christian Clarke (John Partridge) and Ben Mitchell (Joshua Pascoe) id some boxing, and also Kim Dahlberg (Jonas Bane) in Andra Avenyn. But I guess it's because they never boxed on any profession level that they got to keep their sexuality their own business. It's a quite interesting aspect of it...

Deniz Öztürk in Alles Was Zählt.

And my personal faourite: iche hockey! I really love ice hockey and we have a great league here in Sweden, which I do follow. Deniz Öztürk (Igor Dolgatschew) in Alles Was Zählt did play hockey. He had some plans to become a hockey pro, but he ended his hockey career because of some different reasons. Homophobia was one. His team mates actually beat up his boyfriend-to-be Roman when they realized that he was gay, and he was a figure skater. They damaged his knee so bad that it almost ended his figure skating career. I understand why Deniz had such a hard ime coming out of the closet. His team mates were really homophobic.

Roman and Deniz in Alles Was Zählt.

Later he started figure skating instead and actually had a small pair skating career, first with Stella and then with Roman. That is his boyfriend Roman Wild (Dennis Grabosch). And it really was lovely. Roman on his hand, also had a period when he was deep into the closet. In the beginning of the series, when he dated Andrew Wellington, he even lied to Annette about his sexuality. And later in the series, we got to now that back in the days when he dated that Marc guy, he was very closetered. But when he got in the paper when he kissed Deniz in Jenny's hen party, he realized that it was time to come out. There are some out gay figure skaters in real life as well so...

Just as a fun fact, also Roman's little brother, Florian, had some kind of coming out moment when he, also a hockey player, was in love with his team mate Frank. But Frank was no Frank but a Franziska, who dressed as a boy to get to play in the hockey team. That was also a cute storyline.

Lari in Salatut Elämät.

And of course, we have our beloved Lari as well. Lari Väänänen (Ronny Roslöf) in Salatut Elämät also had a shooting hockey career before him, when he met Elias Vikstedt (Petteri Paavola) and was kind of forced to come out of the closet. But he only did that after his team mates beat him up so badly that he couldn't play hockey any more. Also the knee. What is it with homophobic hockey players and damaging other peoples knees?! But I guess Lari is alright today anyway, even though he didn't become hockey pro.

Ronny Roslöf and Petteri Paavola in their hockey team.

And just as a anecdote, both Ronny Roslöf and Petteri Paavola, that is Lari and Elias, are playing hockey in real life. It hardly comes as a surprice because they are from Finland. Hockey is really big in Finland as well. Here they are in their team. I guess, by the look of it, that it is some kind of veterans team.

I am personally very interested in LGBT in the sports culture, and really do think that we need more open LGBT-people in professional sports. Mostly, when gay character is doing sports in a higher level in soap operas, or in other TV-shows (Like Zero in Hit the floor) they are deep down in the closet and they have to deal with daily homophobia. I think that is taken directly from reality, tragically enough. But, for the daily soaps to, give space to those storylines, is helping the awareness of the problem in sports communitys. I do hope for more such storylines, and I do hope for more professional sportsmen to come out as gay. We need more awareness and less stigmatization!

When girls fall for the gay guys...

Don't you just hate it? I mean, you can't help who you fall in love with but who would expose themself for the pain of falling for someone who there is a very very limited chance respond the feelings. I won't say that a gay guy can't fall for a woman, I mean we have seen it in Bob & Rose. If you haven't seen Bob & Rose? Just do it! Anyway, when a girl falls for the gay character, I really hate it. They just cause unecessary fuss. Here are some really irritating examples:

Olli, Christian and Rebecca in Verbotene Liebe.

Ok, on this picture Christian is actually kissing Rebecca (Jasmin Lord). Rebecca von Lahnstein... I really didn't like her before she became a lesbian. At first she dated Christians older brother Gregor, then she kissed Olli, then she used Christian for shopliftng and then she fell in love with him, even though she new he were with Olli. That is so disloyal! And she was so clingy and immature in those days. Didn't like her at all. She was clingy and immature at the same time as Olli and Christian had a tiff, and you can just imagine how messy things became! But then she started dating Miriam and became a little bit more interesting and then she went away in 2011. I didn't miss her. But in 2012 she came back with a new actor (Tatjana Kästel) and this is when it started to get interesting. She had a bisexual fling with Miriam as said, but now she completely fell in love with her brothers wife Marlene and this is when the magic happened. She was more mature and interesting in one episode than she had been in all her previous episodes together! So I have forgiven Rebecca. I like the new Rebecca.

Vanessa and Deniz in Alles Was Zählt.

Vanessa Steinkamp (Julia Augustin) has really changed for me through the years. I started by liking her because she was really supportive when Deniz and Roman started seeing eachother. Then she fell in love with Deniz and by then I really couldn't stand her at all! DeRo is a sensitive issue for me. I am a hardcore DeRo-shipper. If you come between Deniz and Roman I get really really angry. And at last death came between them once and for all. I have rarly cried so much... But I started liking Vanessa again. She is a real nice character, even though I can't forgive her for breaking up DeRo. But everyone deserves a second chance.

Carsten and Lucy in Gute Zeiten Schlechte Zeiten.

And what is it with girls being really supportive about gay relationships before falling in love with them? In this case, Lucy Cöster (Sarah Tkotsch) fell for Carsten when her brother and his boyfriend was in jail! That is such a betayal. Thank gods Lenny had done som anger management and could be really cool about it. Lucy was also really cool and mature, and then she fell for her gay BFF and became a small brat. That was such a non-interesting storyline to follow. And it wasnt even a realistic one! The cruc´sh just came out of the blue and I hated it.

Roxy and Christian in Eastenders.

And Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons) and Christian Clarke... Really? She, his best friend, who always was jealous of Syed were of course in love with Christian. What a joke! She always tried to kibosh everything she could between the couple. Roxy is a quite fun and interesting character, who even volunteered as a surrogate for Christian and Syed, but you can't really like her if you are a Chryed-shipper. And I am. Roxy is in the way!

John Paul and Hannah in Hollyoaks.

And poor poor Hannah Ashworth (Emma Rigby). She was a kind of beard for John Paul when he was in the closet and she completely fell in love with him. I mean, who wouldn't! John Paul is lovely! But he came out and Hannah's heart was broken. But she still couldn't stop being in love with John Paul and she did some quite weird things and really tried to get John Paul back even though she new he was gay and she tried to sabotage his relationship with Spike. She really hated Spike. She even had grudge to him when she met him years later. Quite childish. But Hannah was a nice girl. I liked her anyway, but I really didn't like her actions!

So. don't fall in love with gay guys in soaps! You will have all the soap opera viewers who are faghags, and there ate quite a lot, against you. That is so unecessary.

A disappointment

Eric Osborne as Miles and Lyle Lettau as Tristan.

I am really disappointed in Degrassi. When I started watching it i season 14 I loved it straight away. I watched the Triles storyline on youtube to catch up and then continued season 14, but realized that it wasn't enough for me. I started waching the whole season 13 and realized that I really loved it and was thinking of research if there is a way to watch from the first season. But then I saw in Instagram that they broke up Triles. Really? Did they get about three episodes together or what. And now it seems like Miles is going to go back to Maya. I am so disappointed! Why make a straight guy pansexual just to make him straight again? I really hope that there will be a Triles ending because I think the series need that storyline. I know that it has been done before, I mean straight guy falls for gay guy, it ends of any reason and straight guy goes back to girls only (Christian in Verbotene Liebe and Deniz in Alles Was Zählt are two great examples), but I am not sure if Degrassi has done it before. Besides, I think that Eric Osborne (Miles) and Lyle Lettau (Tristan) has amazing chemistry and who would not want to see that? And also, I don't like Maya.

Well HIV...

Kieron Richardson as Ste Hay.

Well, Ste (Hollyoaks) has got HIV. According to the spoilers he got in from a one night stand and his and John Pauls relationship will become a bit shaky. As it wasn't before? But, as far as I know, this is the first time a LGBT character in a soap opera is HIV positive. We had some examples of the gay fright,. You know and old lover is diagnosed with HIV, the character get's really worried and depressed before the negative result comes.

Jo Weil and Igor Dolgatschew.

Olli (Verbotene Liebe) did it before he finally married Christian. Deniz (Alles Was Zählt) did it after Roman cheated on him. But he actually had unprotected sex while he was drunk. Just as Ste, I assume. Deniz had a really tough period when he took PEP and was sick all the time. But neither Olli or Deniz had HIV. So, I really think this is the first time a gay character is diagnosed with HIV in a soap opera. Which is quite weird actually. Somehow people is connecting gays with HIV. They are even on the same page in biology books in school I was told. I hope that was outdated books...

Well, but we have som examples of straight chracters with HIV. First out is Eastenders Mark Fowler.

Todd Carty as Mark Fowler.

The character Mark Fowler was in the series between 1985-1987 (with another actor) and then between 1990-2003. In 1990 he was diagnosed with HIV. He actually told his family about his HIV as he followed a friends example, a friend who actuallt was gay and HIV positive, but he was only in the series for a short while so that really doesn't count. Anyhow, he is married three times and have a quite happy life before he develops AIDS in 2003, leaves Walford and then dieas a year after.

Kimberly McCullough as Robin Scorpio.

Well, and it might spring to mind that a character in General Hospital is HIV-positive. In 1995 Robin Scorpio was diagnosed, which she cought from her lover Michael "Stone" Cates, who also dies from AIDS te same year. But Robin is staying put, and no AIDS in sight. It's amazing how well the retroviral drugs work!

Glen Wallace as Malachy Fisher.

Then there was Malachy in Hollyoaks. Malachy Fisher was the older brother of the bisexual crossdresser Kris Fisher. Initially, he is a homophobe, and he learns that he is HIV-positive in 2008 when he is giving blood. And he gets over the homophobic thing. And he dates both Mercedes McQueen (who he also marries), Cheryl Brady and Lynsey Nolan. Three of my favourite characters, so he seems to have good taste. But he also dies, of course, in the explosion in Il Gnosh. To bad.

Charlie Hardwick as Val Pollard.

Our most recent character with HIV (except from Ste) is Emmerdale's Val Pollard. She got infected by a fling on vacation i Portugal and was diagnosed in january 2014. We had a big AIDS-fright story in the village there, that ended in a praised heart-felt talk in the Woolpack. The countryside, you know.

But anyway, I am very excited about Ste's HIV storyline. I think it will beat the others by long! This one has John Paul in it. Just that fact will make it amazing! Their interaction will make it amazing! McHay for the win!

Some New Years specials

There have been som nice New Years episodes through the years. Not all soaps are on a break over Christmas, New Years and summer, thank gods. Here are some of my favourites.

Syed, Amira and Christian.

First of all we have the New Years kiss between Christian and Syed (Eastenders) from 2009. There are just rubbish pictures (even my own screenshots) so you'll have to settle with one of Syed kissing Amira instead, while Christian is watching. Awful. But the Chryed kiss was great! Just before the Masood wedding Christian (John Partridge) leaves Walford because of a broken heart, but comes home just for the midnight to give Syed (Marc Elliott) a kiss. It is so romantic, and there is so much pain. I love it!

Tom & Ulli.

Another favourite is actually from the millennium when Tom and Ulli (Verbotene Liebe) got together. And yet another rubbish picture. Tom (Kay Böger) and Ulli (Andreas Stenschke) had been tangled here and there for a while (well, Ulli had a girlfriend, of course) but in New Years eve Ulli finally had the guts to tell Tom his true feelings and from there there was no turning back. The coupled shared a cozy moment in front of the fireplace, and it is a classical scene indeed. To watch it follow the link.

Deniz and Roman on New Years eve.
The Germans know how to do it. Another cute New Years kiss is actually one of DeRo's (Alles Was Zählt) cutest. And yay, a great picture! Well, all of their kisses were cute. But this was special. It was playful and happy, which was not the case of their relationship at this time. Roman (Dennis Grabosch) was unemployed and Deniz (Igor Dolgatschew) was a model. But it was a happy time if you compare to what was to come... And there was also another New Years eve when Deniz dpent it with Vanessa instead of Roman but let's not talk about that!

Those were my favourites. And they were only three! So here is a bonus. Will and Sonny (Days of our lives) from last New Years eve.

Will (Chandler Massey) and Sonny (Freddie Smith).
I need to collect some more favourites I think... Any suggestions?

DeRo

Roman and Deniz before all the pain starts.

The day before yesterday I watched the end of the DeRo storyline. And I cried my eyes out. I knew Roman was going to die, but Oh The Pain! It has been an on-and-off story lined by pain and angst alltogether, but oh so beautiful!

Deniz and Roman on the ping pong table.

Deniz Öztürk stepped into the series Alles Was Zählt in episode 230 and Roman Wild, the ice skater, was attracted right away. He even said he had found what he was looking for. But, of course, Deniz was straight, dated Nina, and had no interest in Roman. Except that he was a bit starstruck by the fact that he was a World Cup medalist. But a joke kiss later, and the ball was rolling. After some struggeling Deniz eventually gave in (after some gay-bashing) and he and Roman started dating. Obsticles they had to come over was a homophobic turkish father (Deniz's), sex-shyness and an jealous ex girlfriend (Nina). These were the happy days when everything was knew and wonderful.

The awful time when Deniz was dating Vanessa.

But then something awful happened. Vanessa happened. I really love the character of Vanessa Steinkamp! She is fun, smart, kind and extremely beautiful. But when she and Deniz developed feelings for each other and started dating behind Roman's back I really hated her! Really really. While watching those awful episodes I was stabbing the air with a pen. And I didn't think I ever was going to come over the contempt I was feeling for her. But I started loving her again. She is really cool. But some modelling-careering and jealousy later, Deniz and Vanessa broke up. And Deniz and Roman started sleeping together again. Yay! But wonderful is short and they started detesting eachother again. But awful is also short and a period of on-and-off feelings started a this was a fun period. They started ice-skating and modelling together and had sort of a fake relationship online directed by the Steinkamp centre.

Filming for the video-blog.

This was also a period of denial and lot's of struggling with feelings for them both before they eentually ended up in the shower for the most epical sex scene in the soap opera history ever, I would argue.

The epic shower scene.

And this is one of this couples strengths. Their enormous passion, steamy hot scenes and great interaction. There are lot of soap gay couples that have great interaction, but this is the couple that stands out in terms of sexiness. Alles Was Zählt is not afraid of showing some skin, neither in terms of straight or gay couples. But as for me, the DeRo sex scenes are the best with no competition.

Deniz and Roman in the qualification for the Gay games.

After some denial and struggling again, the couple at last was official! Oh joy! And the started ice skating together for rea this time and was going to compete in the Gay games. But Roman was getting old and worn and had to do some doping to keep up with the young and virile Deniz. And the ice skating career ended as quickly as it began, unfortunately. I would have liked to see more, because pair skating with to men proved to be one of the most beautiful things ever to be seen. If you ask me.

Happy times for Deniz and Roman.

What follows next is happy times for Deniz and Roman. Even though thy had to struggle a lot to keep it together fincially with unemployment, distance relationship and stuff, I think they have never been so happy together. They were so in love and happy, even though outer circumstances was not ideal. But happy times, lot's of kisses and everything was fine. Until Marc showed up.

Roman and Marc.

Marc was the ex boyfriend Roman never really could get over. It didn't end well and when Marc suddenly showed up and wanted Roman back, Roman couldn't resist. So, first Deniz with Vanessa and now Roman with Marc. Deniz interrupted them of course and everything fell apart. Again. Once more there were lot's of hurt feelings and destructive behaviour which ended in Deniz sleeping with another guy and got the AIDS fright and had to take PEP. And Roman was there for him. It is amazing to see how they always were there for eachother, despite what had happened between them. They always had a special bond between them, even though they were hurt and officially were not together anymore.

On Ben's and Isabelle's wedding.

But of course, they worked it out again. On Ben's and Isabelle's wedding they realized what was imported for them and that was eachother. Some kissing on the dancefloor and cheering by Vanessa, Ingo and Annette followed and Deniz officially had forgiven Roman. Another memorable sex scene follows where Roman carries Deniz over his shoulder! Yes, little Roman carries big Deniz! Wonderful!

But after this, it is really quite boring. They couple are back together and happy, but we don't really get much from them. At this stage of the relationship we get a quite classical gay storyline in a soap opera. At least how they used to be. Back in the days, and still some times, the couple gets to kiss, or hug, once but then never again. It's like they are being censored. And I hate that. I have been together with my bf for more than 4.5 years and we still kiss, really. Stop censoring gay relationships and let them kiss like everyone else! And unfortunately, it is only going down from here. No kissing and at last, Deniz is unfaithful to Roman again! He sleeps with his father's girlfriend Jessica while being really drunk and when Roman finds out, there is nothing left for him. Once more, the couple breaks up and this time it really seems like it will last. But. Roman gets ill. Awful.

Roman, Deniz and the tumour.

Roman gets and non-operable brain tumour and is prepairing himself to die. When Deniz finds out he just won't accept Roman going through this alone and is there for him. Once more, the couple shows how much they mean to eachother. Even though they are not together anyome, Deniz just can't leave Roman in this. And slowly Roman is letting Deniz getting close again and soon once more they have become a couple. They realize how much they love eachother and don't want to waste more time by not being together. In this situation you can expect lots of kissing but no. I think they share one kiss on the mouth, at least that the viewers are invited to see. The last forty episodes are filled with agony and pain and is not really pleasureable to watch. It is even painful to watch them. The last two episodes with Roman still being alive is an exeption. Deniz and Roman spend a day at the beach and has lots of fun. Even I smiled a bit through the tears while watching them.

Deniz, dead Roman and Isabelle.

After Roman dies in episode 1267 there is no happiness left. But the acting from Igor Dolgatschev who plays Deniz is realy brilliant. Him and Dennis Grabosch has a really amazing interaction that just two people who like eachother very much in real life can have. So I think that part of the pain Igor show us here, is letting Dennis go. Letting a person go that you have been working very close to for years hurts. Especially when you are good friends and have a special bond. OK, I don't know Igor and Dennis, but I think that these pictures proves that I am right. And this proves it I think.

And I really hate killing characters you like off. But I don't know how to do anything else in this case. It would just be unbearable if Deniz and Roman would have been breaking up and that Roman left Essen and for us to know that Roman is out there somewhere, without Deniz. On the other hand, if that was the case, we could at least hope for a return and a reunion. Now we know that that is never going to happen. But even though, I really hate that they had to kill Roman off, it at least is some kind of consolation to know that Roman died with Deniz loving him, and that he is always in his heart. Deniz even once told Joscha that one his lifes great love was a man and that they would probably still be together if he wouldn't hav died. Oh Deniz, how much we would have liked that. The only hope we have for a reunion is if Deniz is hoverng between life and death and Roman appears to him, just as he did to Annette when she died. In my fantasy Deniz of course survives and returns to life knowing what is important to him and stops dating meaningless girls as Melanie and Letizia. Preferably Deniz would start dating another man, but if not, at least an interesting woman. I really don't care for Melanie (or Letizia) at all. Stop wasting your time Deniz!

So Igor and Dennis, thank you so much for giving us Deniz and Roman. This beautiful love story is all because of you. There is and will be nothing like it. I know I will cry my eyes out because of you many more times.
