Kish again

Oliver Fish and Kyle Lewis.

This autumn is really dreadful. I needed something cosy with a happy ending. So I rewatched Kish. And I really did enjoy it! American soaps and storylines are not my favourites. There's just something about the studios (even though One Life to Live did take place outside. Sometimes. I've seen trees), the moral and the plots that I don't really love. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate them, but I just like British and German soaps better. But I realised how much I really like this one while watching it again! It is just lagom. And lagom is a Swedish word you really need! It's way better than smörgåsbord and ombudsman. Anyway, I think Kish is just enough, romantic, enough sexy, enough dramatic and enough American. Its such a shame they got rid of Kyle and Oliver. And later they cancelled the show so a come back is not believable. But I think a spin-off or a cross-over would be most welcome! Why not i General Hospital? I mean, Kyle is a doctor after all!

Brett Claywell.

Ok, so I know you are supposed to like Oliver Fish the best because he is such a cutie and such a goody-goody, but I do not agree! Ok, he is a cutie and a goody-goody, but I just think that Kyle is amazing! Ok, he is in the border of being a bad guy because of the blackmailing and stuff, but I think he proves to being a real good guy after all! He is such a loveable character! He just made some bad choices. And Brett Cleywell who plays Kyle is just amazing! And h has the cutest smile! Almost as cute as Dan Feuerriegel. But just almost. In my oppinion the most memorable Kish sceen is when Kyle kisses Oliver in the alley as says: "We meant something!". Just amazing.

Scott Evans and Brett Claywell.

And it's obvious that Scott Evans and Brett Claywell do enjoy eachothers company and like working together. So, where's the spin-off!

Men för helvete Hollyoaks!

That is Swedish. Feel free to google translate. Words cannot describe how disappointed I am about that statement! Starry is just not my thang. I was so looking forrward to a McHay reunion! Well, I have a small small hope about that being just something to mislead us. But Starry just is nothing to McHay! And that chemistry he is talking about, I just don't see it! Anyone with me?!

The Hollyoaks bisexuals

And there has also been some bisexuals in Hollyoaks. Of course. And dykes as well. But let's get to know the bisexuals.

Gerard McCarthy as Kris Fisher.

First out is Kris Fisher. Kris Fisher were both crossdresser and not that scrupulous about his partners. He slept with a guy called Nathan, then a girl called Jessica, and a girl called Summer and later he starts sleeping with both Nancy (later Osbourne)...

Stephen Uppal as Ravi Roy.

...and her boyfriend Ravi Roy. Well, both the affairs was revealed and actually Kris, Nancy and Ravi decided to start a polyamorous relationship. That's a first in soap operas if I'm not wrong. I have never heard of any more poly relationship at least. Unfortunately there's not much to see of this relationship on youtube. That's a shame. And unfortunately the triad broke u because Nancy thought it was weird. What a shame! And I don't think that Ravi had any other same sex partners either. He moved from Hollyoaks in 2010.

Guy Burnet as Craig Dean.

Craig Dean was in the show for six years between 2002-2008. And I actually don't think he was bisexual. Well, I think all people are bisexual somewhat, but if there's just black and white, Craig was not grey. He was just a straight guy who fell in love with his best friend who happened to be a guy. But I count him to the bisexuals anyway. His and John Paul's lovestory was beautiful. Even though it didn't end well. That's a shame. But I kind of hope that Guy Burnet will come back and reprise his role as Craig Dean at some point and reunite with John Paul. Well, he's done it before!

Stephen Billington as Danny Lomax.

I'm not sure I like Danny Lomax. Well, he was a quite good guy and I didn't hate him with John Paul, but he was quite a bastard. He was openly bisexual, at least to his wife, but he also cheated on her. John Paul was really hurt, and so was Sam, but to his defense, he really loved John Paul. Fortunately, John Paul chose his son Ste instead. And speaking of Ste, he and Danny almost made out once before Danny knew that Ste was his son! How lucky that didn't happen! But he did have time s´to snog George a bit before he died. And I actually miss Danny and Sam Lomax. They were great! Especially Sam!

Nick Rhys as Lockie Campbell.

Well, Lockie took Hollyoaks by storm when he arrived last fall. As the fiancé to the McQueen cousin Porsche he arrived and did not hesitate to flirt with John Paul, even on his wedding day! And at least I didn't really like him when he arrived. He as well was a threat to McHay and I just can't tolerate that! But he was quite fun and when he and John Paul started something again this summer I didn't hate it. But it ended because he is after all married to Porsche and he also had an affair with Mercedes at the same time. How about that! Three McQueens at once! He would deserve a medal. But I am quite glad it ended with John Paul so he can reunite with Ste. So, as I told you before, I wouldn't hate Lockie with Scott. Harry is to young though. But perhaps a new gay character for Lockie? I just can't stand Porsche!

The Hollyoaks gays

Ok, because of the celebration of Hollyoaks 20 years I think I will have a small Hollyoaks special here on the blog. That could be a sequel, because there's just so much to tell! Hollyoaks has dealed with a lot of LGBT related issues through the years with two gay rapes, at least two transsexuals, a poly relationship, crossdressing more than once and lot's and lot's more. But let's just concentrate on the gay regular characters for a while.

James Sutton as John Paul McQueen.

It all started with John Paul McQueen in 2006. He fell in love with his best friend Craig Dean who he had a secret relatiosnhip with and both dated a DJ and a priest before he left the show in 2008. Thank gods he returned in 2012, after James Sutton made a litte voyage in Emmerdale as a straight character, who actually worked with Aaron Livesy. The world is quite small indeed. Then he slept with Ste's great big love, Brendan Brady, dated Ste's ex Doug for a short while, had a secret relationship with Ste's dad, Danny Lomax, before he ended up with Ste Hay himself! And they broke up and he also had an affair with his cousin's husband, Lockie. A lot has happened to John Paul McQueen! And I love him, both John Paul and James Sutton. I hope he will stay for a long time this time around!

Jake Hendriks plays Kieorn Hobbs.

So, Kieron Hobbs played by Jake Hendriks. The gay catholic priest who stopped preaching for love. He was a nice guy but I never really liked him. He was quite boring and he just wasn't Craig Dean! So I never really liked him with John Paul. But he didn't deserve to die. Damn Niall. Well, Kieron wasn't a regular for so long, about a half year, but I think he was a popular character in the show. Everybody liked the priest. Except for Myra McQueen for a while when she discovered his relationship with John Paul...

Kieron Richardson as Ste Hay.

And then there's the lovely Ste Hay. I have to say that he is lovely, even though he started up as a bad guy who tormented por Amy and cut her hair. Ste is just so dum, but of so wonderful! He can't help that he is a twat, because he is damaged goods. But he also has a good heart and you just have to love him! Even though he always takes the wrong decisions! Every time! But he is also very cute and funny. And I just love Kieron Richardson so much! he is an amazing actor! I don't always agree Ste in his choice of boyfriends though. He started off with Brendan Brady, who also abused him, then he dated the boring Noah Baxter for a while, then there was a bit more of Brendan, then Doug then more Brendan, then more Doug and then finally John Paul. Unfortunately he has moved on with Harry lately. I do ot approve and I am just waiting for Christmas and the McHay reunion that we are all waiting for!

Emmett J. Scanlan as Brendan Brady.

An then, my personal favourite, Brendan Brady. I know that he is a super villain, but it's just not possible to dislike him! He was really treating Ste like shit for so long, and he didn't really deserve our love right then, but Emmett J. Scanlan is doing such a tremendous job and he is just so brilliant! Brendan Brady will for ever be my favourite gay character in Hollyoaks, and that's because of Emmett. John Paul is the most sympathique character, but Brendan is just the best! He was so weird and funny. It's so obvious that Brendan has a lot of diagnoses and he makes a lot of sick stuff, but we always forgive him. I mean, is there anyone out there who doesn't love Brendan Brady? Ste was the love of his life but he also had a one night stand with John Paul as told before, and he also seduced Ste's boyfriend Noah just to get Ste back. He did everything for love except for sacrifice his sister. I am still a bit bitter for that. Damn you Brendan!

Law Thompson plays Noah Baxter.

I never liked Noah Baxter so I won't dwell on him. He was boring, he was totally wrong for Ste (rebound) and I never really got why he snogged Brendan. Ok, Brendan is amazing, but Noah hated him! I do not miss him at all.

P J Brennan as Doug Carter.

Doug Carter was Ste's first husband who kind of sorted him out when he was atrain wreck after Brendan. And Doug was lovely! He started off as straight, but then he came out after falling for Ste. And even though I am a Stendan shipper, I really liked Stug. They were just good together. And it might be so that I accepted Doug because I knew that Ste would choose Brendan anyway. In any case, they were really cute together and they were also very good for eachother. Unfortunately Doug had to die. That was really a shame. And I also liked Doug with John Paul. They were cute to. I miss Doug. I think Doug could come back as a ghost for Ste just like Steph Dean did for him. That would be great!

Steven Roberts as George Smith.

And here's an underrated gay character. George Smith was a regular in Hollyoaks in 2001-2014 and according to me he never got the gay storyline he deserved. It was just boring stuff with other character's in focus. He had one serious relationship with Vincent Elegba, but they were really boring together. He also had some kind of crush on Ste, who he also lost his virginity to, and he also almost had the hots for Danny Lomax a short while. I would like to have seen more of that. But at least he got a happy ending when he left Hollyoaks for London and Vincent. I hope he will come back some time I miss his funny character and his always amazing and a bit tacky clothes. I think he would be great with Scott actually! Could we please see that Hollyoaks?

John Omole as Vincent Elegba.

I don't really have much to say about Vincent. I haven't seen the storyline about him and George enough to have an oppinion about him, more than that it was quite boring and that Vincent seemed like a nice guy, but boring. Not enough sparks basically. But at least they got to have sex at last. And an happy ending. But boring.

Ross Adams as Scott Drinkwell.

Oh Scott how I disliked you in the beginning. But now I love you! Scott Drinkwell was a pain in the ass when he arrived because he was a threat to McHay, but now he is really funny and cute and I so would like to see him in a real storyline in the name of lööve. There's not much to choose from if George doesn't come back, that is, but for Harry or maybe Lockie. I think I could live with both the alternatives. He thinks that Harry is cute, but I think that he is maybe a bit young. But I would really like Lockie Campbell in a real "can't-live-without-eachother"-storyline, and why not with Scott? Or at least give him a great new character to play with! Just keep him of Ste and John Paul!

Parry Glasspool as Harry Thompson.

Last, and least right know, there's Harry Thompson. Harry is young and innocent and completely wrong for Ste if you ask me. If you read y blog you already know that I am not a fan of Starry. I see no sparks and I am just longing for McHay so much right know. I couldn't care less for Starry! Harry actually started of with a small crush for, and snog with, John Paul and I liked that much more. I could see it. But I just can't see Harry with Ste. It came from nowhere and makes no sense at all! Please break up soon!

So, that was all the regular gay characters in Hollyoaks. I don't think I have missed anyone. But there are a lot more to that show! Hollyoaks is really the best soap opera to watch if you are a faghag!

Happy 20th Hollyoaks!

Hollyoaks gays.

So, Hollyoaks turned 20 years! How great is that?! I guess it comes as no surprise that I am a huge Hollyoaks fan! Hollyoaks have had a lot of gay characters through the years. And not just that a lot of bisexuals, lesbians, crossdessers, transvestites and transgenders to. I guess that's why I love the show so much. That and much more! So can we just take a few moments to appreciate John Paul, McQueen, Kris Fisher, Craig Dean, Ravi Roy, Kieron Hobbs, Ste Hay, Brendan Brady, Noah Baxter, Doug Carter, George Smith, Vincent Elegba, Danny Lomax, Lockie Campbell, Scott Drinkwell and Harry Thompson. And many many more.

Gay Times front pages.

Let's also take some time to appreciate how Gay Times has appreciated the Hollyoaks beaty through the years. I think that Kieron Richardson is their favourite. Mine are Emmet J. Scanlan.. and James Sutton... and Kieron Richardson... and...

Eastenders ftw!

Right now I love Eastenders! Not just because Eastenders has Ben Mitchell and Paul Coker who are two very interesting and loveable gay characters who's lovestory seems very promising, no also because of this:

Riley Carter Millington.

Earlier this month Eastenders went out with the fact that a transgender actor, Riley Carter Millington, were casted in the role as the character Kyle. And yes, Kyle is also transgender. I think more transgender characters and actors are very welcome in soaps and on television all over the world! I am very excited about Kyle! I hope he will be a loveable character!

Roger Sloman as Les Coker.

And then this happened! So that's the secret Les Coker (Roger Sloman) has with Claudette! He is a transvestite! And yes, Les Coker is the grandfather of Paul. And this is so important! Transvestism is much more common than we think, and usually, it's the heterosexual ordinary guy who has this big secret that not even his wife knows about. And it shouldn't have to be like that! There is such ignorance and stigma about transvestisim in the world, and that's why people think they need to hide it! It's really nothing weird or bad about it, trust me about that, I have experience, and the world needs to see that! That's why I think it's so important for Eastenders to tell this story. And for Les to come out! I am sooooo super excited about this! I am so looking forward to getting to know Christine!

To read more about transgender, transvestism and cross dressing in soaps, read this post.  And of course, there's also a bit about Dylan in Hollyoaks. Read here. I miss Dylan...

Sandro and Claudio, what an anticlimax!

Claudio Parenti and Sandro Ferri.

I started, and finished a new storyline. An Italian one. And what an anticlimax! Not that it wasn't any good, but it ended in the middle of the action! The user on Dailymotion stopped and never continued in June this year, and I am so disappointed I never got to see what happened!

Alessio Chiodini.& Gabriele Anagni.

The Italian soap opera is called Un Posto al Sole (A place in the sun) and we get to know Sandro Ferri (Alessio Chiodini), a rich mans son who meets Claudio Parenti (Gabriele Anagni) at a drama course and they fall in love. Sandro is just 18 years old and when he comes out his father is anything else than supportive. And that's where it ends, basically. I would like to see what happens! Does it work between Sandro and Claudio? Does Sandro's father ever stop to be such a homophobic jerk? The questions are many. So if anyone would please start subbing and uploading it again, I know that me and many others will be very very happy!

Uncensored?

I very kind reader told me about the "uncensored" kiss between Relaciones Peligrosas' Alejandro and Diego, aka Alego and linked to the clip on youtube. Thank you! I have already seen it, but I kind of left that out of my blog post because I am not really sure that it is uncensored?! Ok, there is some kind of kiss, I guess, but is it really? We can't really see! What kind of world do we live in if this is an UNCENSORED kiss in America?! Ridiculous. Well, ok, at least it's something. If I were Kevin Aponte or Jonathan Freudman I would be pissed. Let them kiss for heaven's sake!

The Brits and all their awards

The Brits obviously has a lot of awards and TV prizes. Now its time for the NTA-awards, that is the National Television awards. And we do have som favourites from Emmerdale and Hollyoaks who are nominated. In the cathegory for Serial Drama Performance we have both Danny Miller (of course), Ryan Hawley AND Kieron Richardson! It is so hard to decide who to vote for. They are all three so great. There is not many who can cry like Danny Miller aka Aaron Livesy or Kieron Richardson aka Ste Hay, but Ryan Hawley is just doing such a good job to play the villain that we love that we love for being so amazing, but we still love him beeing a villain! I would not want Robert Sugden to become a good guy. Never!

Danny Miller, Ryan Hawley and Louise Marwood.

But I still want him together with Aaron for real. Even though Aaron is such a teddybear nowdays! I would really love to se Robron to hook up again! And do not say that there's not a Danny/Ryan bromance!

I love that Danny is calling Ryan "my man"! To vote in the NTA awards, just follow the link:

Modern Family

The Modern Family cast.

So, I've started watching Modern Family. I've only seen small parts of it before and I have to say that I love it! And it's great because it's on the Swedish Netflix right now. And it's just so much humour! And really great acting. And I have to say that Mitchell and Cameron are adorable!

Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet.

They are really cute together and they have so much chemistry! And it's quite fun to see a gay couple that ticks all the predjudice-boxes for once. I don't like the stereotypical gay characters on TV otherwise, but in such a humoristic series it's quite fun. Cameron is just so hilarious! And Mitchell is really cute! And I do adore Jesse Tyler Ferguson! He is my all time favourite judge on So You Think You Can Dance! And we also have a lookalike here in Sweden!

Jonas Rönnqvist.

Don't you think that the Swedisg hockey trainer Jonas Rönnqvist looks quite like Jesse Tyler Ferguson? Well, so thinks my BF! I love gingers...

Censored!

Kevin Aponte and Jonathan Freudman as Alejandro and Diego.

...it's censored! All the same sex kisses are censored! This is as close as it gets! I just don't get it! Why oh why? Well, it's just what the world needs, more stigmatization around gay relationships! It's just laughable and sad. And I get really angry! I mean, it is an America-based television network! I know that some americans are a bit so-so about same sex anything, but I just don't get why anyone have to censor same sex kissing, american or spaniard! In the english wikipedia-page of the show you can read this: Relaciones Peligrosas is a novela that tells a modern, daring story with no taboos (except for the censoring of same-sex kisses), delving into the difficult and often-conflictive relationships between teenagers, their parents and teachers of a bilingual high school. That just makes no sense! I really would like to see some Alego kisses!

Sisley Dias and Duarte Gomes.

And speaking of censorship! Here's David and Xavier from the Portuguese telenovela Os Nossos Dias. And they are also censored! Not a single snog for us! And it is so frustrating! And I just don't get what's the difference between this telenovela and O Beijo do Escorpião. Ok, it is not the same production company, but it is the same Portugal, and it is also the same actors! At least one of them. And it is the same genre to. Really annoying because missing so much snogging. But it is quite alright anyway. It is, just like O Beijo do Escorpião, very well-made, and it is quite intriguing.

Duarte Gomes who plays David.

It is about David Lopes who is studying to become a chef and he is dating quite a lot of women at the beginning, to be a gay man. But he might be bi, I haven't finished the storyline yet. David is a quite alright character, but maybe a bit boring. But Duarte Gomes is great as always! But when you wtach it, prepare for a long wait before any action at all. Or, there will be no action because it is censored, but some kind of sparks at least.

Sisley Dias who plays Xavier.

In the fourteenth episode on youtube finally Xavier Cordoso shows up. He is a student and a hockey player who lives with his parents and younger brother. And he is gay. And closetered. Quite a ordinary story. But he is at least a more likeable character than David. But don't get me wrong, I don't dislike David, but he is just bleh. And take a look and appreciate how hot Sisley Dias is!

Xavier and David.

And because the show is censored this is as close at it gets.

Hugging.

Ok, here's a hug. Enjoy another gay storyline from the, apparently, restrained Portuguese.
