How to get away with murder

There is a new series started in September that is quite cool. It's called How to get away with murder and is about a group of law students in Philadelphia. Each episode contains a new trial case, but there is also an ongoing murder plot through the whole series. It is great fun, grat actors such as Matt McGorry (Orange is the new black), Alfie Enoch (Harry Potter) and Katie Findlay (The Killing, The Carrie Diaries) and also some gay sex.

Jack Falahee as Connor Walsh.

Connor Walsh (Jack Falahee) is one of the law students who has a lot of appetite for both life and sex. Whe have seen him hook up with a guy more than once. This character is hilarious, and I think it would be worth watching the series just because of Connor Walsh.

Jack Falahee as Connor Walsh and Conrad Ricamore as Oliver.

Even though it seems like Connor is quite confortable with casual sex, and lots of it, it also seems like he found a guy he really likes in the computer hacker Oliver. But right now he screwed it up and it's unclear if he will get a second chance. But I am intrigued to see how the character of Connor Walsh will develop!

G&T webserie

I found something new. And something very addictive. I was a bit in the blues after watching to great lovestories end in disaster, that is Stendan (jail for life) and DeRo (death by brain tumour) and didn't really feel like watching any of stories that I have to catch up in (McCarter, Olli or Johnny) so I wanted something new. Something without several hundreds of episodes. I knew that I had seen something about a webseries and surfed in to the G&T-channel. I ploughed through it in a flash and fell absolutely in love!

Matteo Rocchi and Francesco D'Alessio.

G&T webserie is an Italian series produced for the web that has two seasons today. Ok, my Italian is non-existent, and about there is to read about the series is in Italian and google translate cannot always do the job, but to me it seems like the guys who plays the main charaters, Francesco D'Alessio and Matteo Rocchi, does about it all. They both starr in it, writes the screenplay, directs it and about all the crew including the cast are holding cameras, screens, lighting, you name it! I love it!

Matteo Rocchi as Tommaso & Francesco D'Alessia as Giulio.

Ok, the series is about Tommaso (Matteo Rocchi) and Giulio (Francesco D'Alessia), two best friends who once shared a passionate snog in the bathroom of a student club. After that they didn't see each other for five years because of some closety issues from Tommaso. We get in to the action when their roads crosses again and there are sparks! I don't wanna spoil it for you because I really recommend that you watch it! Or I might even demand you to watch it because it is absolutely amazing! This kind of project with a small budget where everyones involved really is involved, you just have to support! The actors are great, the footage is very beautiful, the plot is very good, the props and costumes are very suitable, the dialogue, script, everything, breathes love! Please tune in to G&T webserie on youtube and let me know what you think! A little warning though, the english subtitles in season 1 is quite poor, but you will get the main contents. It is very well worth watching!

A little bit of age difference

Well, if you have read my blog I guess it doesn't come as a surprise that I am a huge Lari and Kalle shipper right now! I think they are perfect for each other. But there are some people that doesn't agree, both in the series and in real life. The biggest objection about a relationship between the two are the age difference. But I don't really get what all the fuzz is about.

Pete Lattu as Kalle and Ronny Roslöf as Lari.

Ok, there are 16 years between them, but that's nothing! Been there, done that. Lari is of age, and Kalle is both warm and kind. Lari has been through so much that he really needs a mature boyfriend, and that is not Elias right now. Just go for it!

Dennis Grabosch as Roman and Igor Dolgatschew as Deniz.

There has been some couples with a bit of age difference before. One of the clearest examples are Deniz and Roman, DeRo. Ok, Deniz Öztürk was 17 when he joined the series in 2007, which makes him born 1990, that's 7 years younger than the actor. Anyway, Roman turned 30 in 2009 or 2010 or something, if I haven't gotten it completely wrong, which makes him about 10 years older than Deniz. And that is nothing! Nothing to worry about there. Maybe when he was under age, but that's niceties. The biggest issue with these two was that they persistated on breaking up all the time!

Carlo Degen as Joscha and Alexander Gier as Kai.

Well, I guess the writers of Alles was zählt like a bit of age difference in their gay storylines. Joscha and Kai, that we had the pleasure of following last year until May this year had a little bit of age difference to I guess. If I understood it right Joscha was about 20-22. Well Kai was a doctor, who had been working for a while, so he have to had been in his thirties. I guess there was about 10 years between those cuties to. And we have already noted that 10 years are nothing! Even 16 years are nothing!

James Sutton as John Paul and Stephen Billinton as Danny.

And then there's John Paul MacQueen and Danny Lomax who had a fling last year. Danny and John Paul worked together and also started sleeping together. Ok, John Paul actually was 17 in 2006. That makes him 25 now. He looks older. That might be because James Sutton is 31. But anyways, Danny Lomax has grown up children so he would be at least 40. I would guess about 45. That means about 20 years of age difference! That is quite a lot, but if everyone is happy it is not a problem. And really, that is just fur years older than 16 years, and as stated before, that is nothing. The problem here was that Danny was married. And, just as an anecdote, he is also Ste's biological dad. Ste and John Paul is dating right know. And Danny also died in a car crash.

Ferry Doedens and Dave Mantel.

There is also suppose to be an age difference between Lucas and Menno from Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden, but I haven't seen that storyline yet and they also broke up so I don't really have much to say about them. But I will see it, of course. Anyone who know how much of age difference there was?

So, my point is that age difference is a phenomenon from real life that we also see in soap operas, and not just with yung girls and rich older men. There is nothing shocking with a little bit of age difference so stop nagging about it and let Lari and Kalle snog in peace. Amen.

General Hospital

In the 90's, there was a fenomenal called "eftermiddagsserier på TV4". That means series in channel 4 in the afternoon. It was a special feeling coming home from school, putting on the TV to watch whatever TV¤ was showing then. TV4 both gave me Dynasty, Dallas, Road to Avonlea, 90210, Little house on the prairies and lots lots more. And General Hospital. Even though I think General Hospital was more around lunch time, so maybe it was more a series to watch when you were home sick.

I haven't seen General Hospital since then, and to be honest, I didn't even know it still existed. But anyways, a couple of days ago, I got the tip from another swedish "faghag" on instagram that there were gays in General Hospital, and that it's on youtube, I just had to check it out.

Felix DuBois portraited by Marc Anthony Samuel.

There are three gay characters in General Hospital at the moment. Felix DuBois, who is played by Marc Anthony Samuel, has been in the show since late 2012. Felix is a nurse who seems to have been the love interest of Brad Cooper for about a year before they eventually go out on a date. A quite boring character actually, if you ask me.

Brad Cooper portraited by Parry Shen.

Brad Cooper, played by Parry Shen, is the lab technician at the hospital who was craving for Felix for about a year before he med Lucas Jones. He is also the biological son of a mobster, and he also helped his best friend Brit Westbourne to steal an embryo to impregnate herself, just to get himself a promotion. He is a quite fun character actually. He has been in the show since February 2013.

Lucas Jones portraited by Ryan Carnes.

Lucas Jones was introduced in the show in 1989, and is one of those characters who has aged rapidly, and has been played by no less than ten different actors. Ryan Carnes, who plays Lucas Jones right now is both the ninth and the eleventh Lucas Jones. Lucas Jones is also the biological son of a mobster, and came out in 2005, before he left for Seattle in 2006. In 2014 Lucas was back in Port Charles (where the series takes place) and immediately met Brad Cooper who he fell for. Brad on his hand got asked out on a date by Felix who he had been craving for for about a year the day after he had spent the night with Lucas. Bad timing. A love triangle between Lucas, Brad and Felix started where Brad was dumped both by Felix and Lucas (partly because of the embryo-stealing) which went on until there almost was a threesome (a gay threesome in an american soap opera, blimey!) and Brad and Lucas ended off together, at last. And there we are now.

Lucas and Brad at last.

I really adore the character of Lucas Jones, he is hilarious, and Brad is not that bad either. Felix is boring. But this seems promising. I really hope for some more humour and steamy scenes with the two. But General Hospital. What a ridiculous series it is! Oh my god, what was that nurses ball thing? Strained dialogue, silly stage performances, strip tease with Lucas and Felix AND improvised singing by Brad where the background singers knew all the words? Ridiculous! Really! But at least, it is not such a slow and boring soap as Days of our lives. But it is quite funny, while watching General Hospital on youtube I realized a recognized more than one actor and then I realized it was actually from General Hospital! There are still some characters left since the mid 90's! And I also realized that it is the same actors in all the american soaps. In General Hospital you can both see the detective from One life to live and Sonnys father from Days, for example.

And if you think you recognize Ryan Carnes who plays ucas Jones, you might do. It is the same Ryan Carnes that played the boyfriend Justin of Andrew van de Kamp in Desperate Housewives, and he was also in the first Eating Out movie. And I have to say, he is quite nice looking at.

Violence in our minds

Ok, there is something with soap operas, violence and gay relationships. Straight relationships to I guess, but there is a significance in gay once, I think. The classical scenario is that a gay character is so deep into the closet that he can't handle the fact that he is attracted to another man that he uses violence to suppress both his and the other gay characters feelings. There are lots of examples of that.

Amy interrupts a tense moment between Brendan and Ste.

The most obvious example of this is the relationship/non-relationship between Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) and Brendan Brady (Emmett J. Scanlan). This seems to be the first example of domestic violence in a gay relationship in a british soap opera. The actors stated that they were very proud of the storyline, and I do think that it is avery important matter to portrait. In the beginning of the Stendan journey, Brendan handled it by smacking Ste up about every second time they got together. Ste tried to stop loving Brendan and borke it off with him several times, but always ended up in Brendans arms in the end. In time, Brendan did start to handle his aggression and dealt with it and stopped smacking Ste up, and they started an sort of equal relationship, but even then he smacked Ste when he was haunted and pressured, a couple of times. Ste of course forgave him. Again and again. And Stendan is a very very popular couple. Even though their relationship was dashed by a little violence.

Ringo beating Yannick almost to death,

Another homophobic character very deep down into the closet is Ringo Beckmann  (Timothy Boldt) from Unter Uns. His self-disgust knew no bounds when he almost hit his fling Yannick Benhöfer (Eric Stehfest) almost to death, just because he wanted to have a proper relationship with him. Ringo on the other hand, repented of course, and tried to get Yannick back. But thankfully, Yannick never forgave him andleft the series just some episodes after the abuse. It would have been to unreal if he would have forgiven him, I think.

Lenny and Carsten beating eachother up before some snogging.

Well, another storyline with a lining of violence is the Cenny one. Carsten Reimann (Felix Isenbügel) and Lenny Cöster (Alexander Becht) liked beating both eachother and others up. When they were not fighting with other gangs, they were trying to resist eachother and did that with som beatings. In the end, Lenny even participated in an assault of Carsten, where they actually both were so damaged they ended up in hospital. Lenny, of course, changed his mind in the last moment and tried to stop the gang from beating Carsten up. Carsten had a hard time forgiving Lenny, but because he loved him so much, he finally did. And they live happily ever after.

Deniz and Roman forgot it all.

There are some similarities between the Cenny and the DeRo storylines. Just as Lenny knew that the gang was going to beat up Carsten, Deniz Öztürk (Igor Dolgatschev) knew that his hockey team mates was going to beat up Roman Wild (Dennis Grabosch). The homophobic hockeyplayers told Deniz about their plans, and even wanted Deniz to participate in them, and Deniz never really tried to stop them. He was a coward. He was running after them, but then he chickened out and ran away. The homphobes broke Romans knee and almost ruined his figure skating career. At first Roman knew nothing about Deniz's part in the assault, but when he knew, he never really had a hard time forgiving him. But, I read in an article that the actor, Dennis Grabosch, said that he never would have forgiven such a thing. But, I have to say, thank you writers for Roman forgiving Deniz, otherwise, we would have missed out on one of the most beautiful love storys of this century.

Joscha is not happy with Kai.

Alles was Zählt have given us another great love story where there was a bit of violence. Joscha Degen (Carlo Degen) was closetered football player that even got married to a woman to hide his homosexuality. But when he met the hot doctor Kai Seebach (Alexander Gier) on his wedding night, there was no turning back. But when they shared a cozy moment in the bushes, and Joschas team mates showed up, he reacted irrationally and pushed Kai into the bushes. Thank gods that Deniz showed up and talked some sence to Roman by telling him not to be such a pusch over and not letting others pay for his assholeness, and Joscha apologized to Kai. Kai in his hand, ended the thing between them, because of how Joscha treated him. A perfectly logical reaction. But of course, he couldn't resist Joscha and eventually gave in. And they lives happily ever after.

Larias. Not always friends.
Craig and John Paul.

There have also been some smacking and pushing between Larias and McDean. That is Lari Väänänän (Ronny Roslöf) and Elias Vikstedt (Petteri Paavola) and John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) and Craig Dean (Guy Burnet). In both cases passion won against anger and the couples were united. And this made me start thinking. I am not saying that these kind of stereotypichal scenarios are just in gay relationships. I am fully aware of that abuse are present in straight relationships in soaps to, even though I think it is more common that there is more common with a little bit of violence in the beginning af relationships between men, in the denial state. Maybe it's about testosteone and male stereotypes. Violence is present in both same sex and straight relationships in both soaps and real life, and people stay with their partners after abuse in real life to. And it is important to show this in soap operas to bring awareness of violence and help people deal with it, and maybe even seek help. Hollyoaks is actually very good at directing to help lines when showing these storylines. But, because of the ordinariness of at least a little bit of violence in gay relationships in soap operas there is some kind of message that it's ok with a little bit of violence. Expect a little bit of abuse, but after that everything is fine. But I get that it has to some drama to the storylines, and even I have confessed that a lot of my favourite storylines actually have som violence in them (see above), but it really would be nice to see a nice helathy gay relationship with no violence, no infidelity and no fucking brain tumour, or shooting maniac, or a collapsing building, or strange deadly virus, just happiness, love and lots of snogging. Would that be too uninteresting to watch?

Again...

Carsten Reimann and Lenny Cöster.

I have to confess. I am watching Cenny again. Lenny and Carsten that is. It all happened because I was scrolling down my blog post because I was searching for something and happened to scroll past the special post about the pair I made in april, because I was already rewatching the storyline three months after descovering it. And now I am hooked again. There is just something very addictive with the love story of Lenny Cöster and Carsten Reimann. Though I discovered that one of my sources of the storyline was removed and annoyed. But then I found another one, a source that contained an episode previously missing, that I really really wanted to see! But I won't tell you my sources in case of RTL spying on me. If you want to know my sources, if you are curious on any storyline, please send me an e-mail. I am gladly part of the contribution av these storylines, to as many people as possible!

Alexander Becht and Felix Isenbügel.

The actors Alexander Becht and Felix Isenbügel both left the series Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten in 2010. They have done a bit of everything since then and as I have told you before, Felix Isenbügel who plays Carsten, has told RTL that he could imagine returning to GZSZ, but there are no such hints from Alexander Becht. There is an interview with him on youtube that I barely understand a word from (Germans and their fast-talking) but I read that he said that he didn't like the part of of Lenny, he was sick about the storylines and that he was tired of the 16 hours working days. I do understand. I guess it is really hectic being a soap actor, and I do even understand he didn't like the character of Lenny. Lenny was quite blank character hos solved everything with a little bt of violence. But I think he became a really nice and interesting character when he came out and started dating Carsten, who actually also used to be quite blank character. The two characters supplemented eachother. I do follow both Alexander Becht and Felix Isenbügel on facebook, and at least Felix seem to be an active actor, mostly on stage.

Carsten, the long-haired Lenny and the kiss.

Well, I don't know, maybe Alexander Becht has a lot on, but if he doesn't why not coming back to GZSZ for a bit? I really think the series needs a new gay storyline, even though there is an ongoing female one, but the more the merrier. And I for one would really like to see what Lenny and Carsten does today! What happened to Lennys art studying? How did he adapt to a new life outside prison? Did they go to Barcelona or Australia? Does Carsten still have such a sleasy taste in clothes (tight jeans and a tucked in shirt is never good)? I mean, there are endless questions and we doesn't get any answers. You really got a responsibility here! That is the backside of giving us a gay storyline with a happy ending. We are never really satisfied. And with "we", I mean me.

DeRo

Roman and Deniz before all the pain starts.

The day before yesterday I watched the end of the DeRo storyline. And I cried my eyes out. I knew Roman was going to die, but Oh The Pain! It has been an on-and-off story lined by pain and angst alltogether, but oh so beautiful!

Deniz and Roman on the ping pong table.

Deniz Öztürk stepped into the series Alles Was Zählt in episode 230 and Roman Wild, the ice skater, was attracted right away. He even said he had found what he was looking for. But, of course, Deniz was straight, dated Nina, and had no interest in Roman. Except that he was a bit starstruck by the fact that he was a World Cup medalist. But a joke kiss later, and the ball was rolling. After some struggeling Deniz eventually gave in (after some gay-bashing) and he and Roman started dating. Obsticles they had to come over was a homophobic turkish father (Deniz's), sex-shyness and an jealous ex girlfriend (Nina). These were the happy days when everything was knew and wonderful.

The awful time when Deniz was dating Vanessa.

But then something awful happened. Vanessa happened. I really love the character of Vanessa Steinkamp! She is fun, smart, kind and extremely beautiful. But when she and Deniz developed feelings for each other and started dating behind Roman's back I really hated her! Really really. While watching those awful episodes I was stabbing the air with a pen. And I didn't think I ever was going to come over the contempt I was feeling for her. But I started loving her again. She is really cool. But some modelling-careering and jealousy later, Deniz and Vanessa broke up. And Deniz and Roman started sleeping together again. Yay! But wonderful is short and they started detesting eachother again. But awful is also short and a period of on-and-off feelings started a this was a fun period. They started ice-skating and modelling together and had sort of a fake relationship online directed by the Steinkamp centre.

Filming for the video-blog.

This was also a period of denial and lot's of struggling with feelings for them both before they eentually ended up in the shower for the most epical sex scene in the soap opera history ever, I would argue.

The epic shower scene.

And this is one of this couples strengths. Their enormous passion, steamy hot scenes and great interaction. There are lot of soap gay couples that have great interaction, but this is the couple that stands out in terms of sexiness. Alles Was Zählt is not afraid of showing some skin, neither in terms of straight or gay couples. But as for me, the DeRo sex scenes are the best with no competition.

Deniz and Roman in the qualification for the Gay games.

After some denial and struggling again, the couple at last was official! Oh joy! And the started ice skating together for rea this time and was going to compete in the Gay games. But Roman was getting old and worn and had to do some doping to keep up with the young and virile Deniz. And the ice skating career ended as quickly as it began, unfortunately. I would have liked to see more, because pair skating with to men proved to be one of the most beautiful things ever to be seen. If you ask me.

Happy times for Deniz and Roman.

What follows next is happy times for Deniz and Roman. Even though thy had to struggle a lot to keep it together fincially with unemployment, distance relationship and stuff, I think they have never been so happy together. They were so in love and happy, even though outer circumstances was not ideal. But happy times, lot's of kisses and everything was fine. Until Marc showed up.

Roman and Marc.

Marc was the ex boyfriend Roman never really could get over. It didn't end well and when Marc suddenly showed up and wanted Roman back, Roman couldn't resist. So, first Deniz with Vanessa and now Roman with Marc. Deniz interrupted them of course and everything fell apart. Again. Once more there were lot's of hurt feelings and destructive behaviour which ended in Deniz sleeping with another guy and got the AIDS fright and had to take PEP. And Roman was there for him. It is amazing to see how they always were there for eachother, despite what had happened between them. They always had a special bond between them, even though they were hurt and officially were not together anymore.

On Ben's and Isabelle's wedding.

But of course, they worked it out again. On Ben's and Isabelle's wedding they realized what was imported for them and that was eachother. Some kissing on the dancefloor and cheering by Vanessa, Ingo and Annette followed and Deniz officially had forgiven Roman. Another memorable sex scene follows where Roman carries Deniz over his shoulder! Yes, little Roman carries big Deniz! Wonderful!

But after this, it is really quite boring. They couple are back together and happy, but we don't really get much from them. At this stage of the relationship we get a quite classical gay storyline in a soap opera. At least how they used to be. Back in the days, and still some times, the couple gets to kiss, or hug, once but then never again. It's like they are being censored. And I hate that. I have been together with my bf for more than 4.5 years and we still kiss, really. Stop censoring gay relationships and let them kiss like everyone else! And unfortunately, it is only going down from here. No kissing and at last, Deniz is unfaithful to Roman again! He sleeps with his father's girlfriend Jessica while being really drunk and when Roman finds out, there is nothing left for him. Once more, the couple breaks up and this time it really seems like it will last. But. Roman gets ill. Awful.

Roman, Deniz and the tumour.

Roman gets and non-operable brain tumour and is prepairing himself to die. When Deniz finds out he just won't accept Roman going through this alone and is there for him. Once more, the couple shows how much they mean to eachother. Even though they are not together anyome, Deniz just can't leave Roman in this. And slowly Roman is letting Deniz getting close again and soon once more they have become a couple. They realize how much they love eachother and don't want to waste more time by not being together. In this situation you can expect lots of kissing but no. I think they share one kiss on the mouth, at least that the viewers are invited to see. The last forty episodes are filled with agony and pain and is not really pleasureable to watch. It is even painful to watch them. The last two episodes with Roman still being alive is an exeption. Deniz and Roman spend a day at the beach and has lots of fun. Even I smiled a bit through the tears while watching them.

Deniz, dead Roman and Isabelle.

After Roman dies in episode 1267 there is no happiness left. But the acting from Igor Dolgatschev who plays Deniz is realy brilliant. Him and Dennis Grabosch has a really amazing interaction that just two people who like eachother very much in real life can have. So I think that part of the pain Igor show us here, is letting Dennis go. Letting a person go that you have been working very close to for years hurts. Especially when you are good friends and have a special bond. OK, I don't know Igor and Dennis, but I think that these pictures proves that I am right. And this proves it I think.

Igor Dolgatschev and Dennis Grabosch.

And I really hate killing characters you like off. But I don't know how to do anything else in this case. It would just be unbearable if Deniz and Roman would have been breaking up and that Roman left Essen and for us to know that Roman is out there somewhere, without Deniz. On the other hand, if that was the case, we could at least hope for a return and a reunion. Now we know that that is never going to happen. But even though, I really hate that they had to kill Roman off, it at least is some kind of consolation to know that Roman died with Deniz loving him, and that he is always in his heart. Deniz even once told Joscha that one his lifes great love was a man and that they would probably still be together if he wouldn't hav died. Oh Deniz, how much we would have liked that. The only hope we have for a reunion is if Deniz is hoverng between life and death and Roman appears to him, just as he did to Annette when she died. In my fantasy Deniz of course survives and returns to life knowing what is important to him and stops dating meaningless girls as Melanie and Letizia. Preferably Deniz would start dating another man, but if not, at least an interesting woman. I really don't care for Melanie (or Letizia) at all. Stop wasting your time Deniz!

So Igor and Dennis, thank you so much for giving us Deniz and Roman. This beautiful love story is all because of you. There is and will be nothing like it. I know I will cry my eyes out because of you many more times.

Break the silence

Keith Rice as Finn O'Connor in Hollyoaks.

Last week Finn O'Connor was found guilty in Hollyoaks. Rightly. Because he was guilty as a sin. Early this year John Paul McQueen was raped by his student Finn O'Connor after months of bullying because of his sexuality. After months of suffering and agony, at last he did break the silence about the rape and he was charged for the rape and found guilty. And that was after another rape attempt of Nancy Osborne. Finn O'Connor is really an evil character. But it is also a character with so many dimensions and I can't help feeling for him in some way. Because of the imprisonment, Finn O'Connor now has left the show. But I hope that he will come back because I think that Finn O'Connor has more dimensions to show us. And also, Keith Rice is really a great actor that has portraited the part of Finn in a really great way. Well done Keith! I like you, even though I really dislike Finn. In one way. Well, it's complicated.

Finn O'Connor and John Paul McQueen.

That James Sutton is a great actor I already knew, but this storyline also let him give John Paul McQueen more dimensions. It is a very powerful storyline that is not typical for a soap opera. rape is always taboo to talk about and there is so much shame associated with it, and that's why this storyline is so important! I really think it should have won the prize for best storyline in the Inside soap awards (even though the Patrick/Maxine storyline was a worthy winner). James Sutton supports the Breaking the silence campaign that encourage male survivors of rape to come forward and talk about it. We really need to break the silence and talk about it! I think this storyline of Hollyoaks is vital and applauds both James Sutton and Keith Rice for it! And I really would like to see what kind of person Finn O'Connor is after inprisonment.

Keith Rice and James Sutton.

And a parenthesis: Keith Rice and James Suttons are good mates in real life. I like their football tweets in weekends. Even though I'm not at all interested in football...

Gary Lucy as Luke Morgan in Hollyoaks.

And my dear readers, this is not the first time Hollyoaks has a male rape storyline. We saw it already in 2000 when the character Luke Morgan Played by Gary Lucy (yes, Danny Pennant in Eastenders) was raped by bully Mark Gibbs after moths of bullying. When at last Luke starts defending himself, Mark pays back by raping Luke. Luke is traumatized for life after this and eventually moves to Canada. An awful storyline that really broke boundaries. The Hollyoaks special when this rape occured was even called Hollyoaks: Breaking the boundaries. So I am applauding Hollyoaks for dealing with such a taboo two times.

Kalle och Valtteri in after the rape.

But Hollyoaks are not the only ones. Salatut Elämät has also done it. Some time ago our Kalle (Pete Lattu) was raped by his ex boyfriend Valtteri who went to jail for that. And that's about all I know. I have googled it and I know there is some articles about this storyline in cuberspace but there isn't really a point to google translate it. I'm sorry neighbours, but finnish is a really weird language that doesn't really work translating in the translate service mentioned. It really doesnt make sense. The only thing I know is that Kalle dated a woman (Katariina) for a while after the rape and now he is dating Lari. I don't know if Kalle has been dating another guy since the rape but maybe we will see Kalle dealing with the rape and moving forward while dating Lari. We'll have to wait and see.

Finally, I once again want to applaud both Hollyoaks and Salatut Elämät for giving us theese storylines. The unreported cases of male rape is huge and by showing theese storylines, it is hopefully a chance to help male rape victims to deal with it and to seek help for it. Wee need to remove the taboo of talking about rape in general, and male rape in particular. Break the silence.

An Olli check up

So, what happens with Olli? Is the house gay of Verbotene Liebe getting any action after the divorce from Christian? Well, it seems so. It didn't go any where with Sascha apparently, (no wonder because he is straight. I mean writers, why do you have to serve only straight guys to Olli?) and now it seems like Olli has a new fling coming.

Mickey Hardt as Jo and Jo Weil as Olli.

The spoliers tell us that apparently there is a romans starting in about a week including Olli (Jo Weil) and new character, the doctor, Josef "Jo" Helmke. If you recognize the name Helmke I can tell you that yes, it is Frank Helmkes half brother. And this character Jo seems to be at least bisexual. We know that because he used to have a boyfriend called Samuel. But what surprises me is that he also had a one night stand with Ollis half sister Bella. I mean, why just have sex with one sibling? So, what I can read from the spoilers there is an affair on the way, but no relationship announced yet.

So, now I wonder two things. First: Why have the writers given the new fling for Olli the same name as the actor who plays Olli? Dr Josef is called Jo, and the actor Johannes is called Jo. Very confusing? And second: When is Christian coming back? Really, if the series is going to be cancelled, I think it's not to much to demand one of the greatest gay love storys to end well. What about a happy ending for a gay love story for a change? But I also realise that if there is going to be some Oliver Sabel action again, I need to sontinue watching this story. Olli is a nice character and Jo Weil seems to be a really nice guy. Win win.

Prioritizing again

Kevin Walker and Scotty Wandell in Brothers & Sisters.

And on the subject prioritizing, it's not just soaps I need to prioritize, it's drama series as well! Right now I am watching Brothers & Sisters and the cute couple Kevin and Scotty. I am watching them from time til time on Netflix when I have the time. Right now I am actually on season 5, the last season, so there is not much left.

Sammy and Abdul in Tyrant.

And I also have some Tyrant left I have paused by episode six. I like the series, but I have prioritezed other storylines lately, but I will watch the end of season 1 soon. And, fortunately, there will be a second season, which is great! I just hope there will be some more Sammy and Abdul in next season...

Ian and Mickey in Shameless USA

And I have also bought the first seasons of both Glee and Shameless USA which I have to give my self time to watch some time. In Glee there is Kurt and Blaine and in Shameless USA there is Ian and Mickey. And also, I have to see the original, Shameless UK, as well!

Nathan, Stuart and Vince in Queer as folk, the original.

And speaking of british series with american remakes, one of my favourite gay series of all time is Queer as folk! There is also an american version, which was aired in five seasons. Me and my friend C started watching the pilot some years ago, but we gave up and shut it off after about half the episode. If I understand it right the american version will be quite alike the british origional at first, but then it will develop own storylines, but the pilot was just to alike. In a bad way, because it was much worse. But I have decided to give it a chance. And as a bonus, the version that I've got is subtitled in spanish, and I want to learn spanish, because of Fervid of course, so in the beginning, where I will be mostly annoyed I guess, I can concentrate on learning spanish at least!

The teens in Skins.

And I am also very keen on watching Skins. I have seen some parts of it before and I remember that I like it. Skins is also on Netflix so there is nothing stopping me from watching it. Accept the lack of time... Annoying that there is so much time that is lost on working, eating and stuff. Fortunately there is an autumn break coming. Last year I discovered Larias in that week. Oh happy days!

But again! What to prioritize? Where to start? Give me more hours in the day, please.
